Well it's been a long time coming but here we are, the show that put the last nail in the coffin for Star Trek. Star Trek Nemesis got its ass kicked at the box office in 2002, and that led to the 7 year gap between it and the film that came out in 2009. A new series has been mentioned more than once but as of this article's publication nothing is certain. Star Trek Into Darkness did however go on to make absurd amounts of money at the box office this year, so there is still demand for the franchise.
