I was wondering if Kellie the character Laura decided she wanted to do other things besides play the Laura character do you think the producers would have canceled Family Matters or hire another actress that looks like her ???

Who knows, Jaleel said the producers didnt really like recasting which is why Judy never was replaced. I guess they only did it for Harriette because they still wanted a mother, but with Laura they probably would have had her go far away to college or something and might have focused more on Steve and Myra, and Steve would still go to the Winslows to be with Carl and Eddie.

They sure as hell did not mind recasting another Harriet that looked nothing like the first the white producers said lets just pick another black woman people wont notice or care because Steve Urkel is the only person folks want to see, when you replace the first with the second you want to make sure the other woman or man looks similar to the first almost like a twin, they could have replaced Steve Urkel with another black boy but if his skin tone and voice and personality dont match Jaleel White people are going to notice even people that are not African American lol.


For example The Wonder Years you dont think people will notice if they replace Kevin Arnolds character with a African American male like Jaleel White people are going to notice the huge major diff'ence in the skin tone muhahahaha lol.
