HBO announced the premiere date for "Game of Thrones'" fourth season at the Television Critics Association winter press tour.

"Game of Thrones" returns on April 6th at 9/8c w/ the Season 3 launch of "Veep" following at 10/9c.

HBO will release the first trailer for "Game of Thrones" ahead of Sunday's "True Detective" premiere at 9/8c.

"Game of Thrones'" Season 4 bowed to record numbers Sunday.

The opener drew a series-high 6.6 million viewers, making it HBO's most-watched program since "The Sopranos'" series finale in 2007, which drew 11.9 million.

That's up from Season 3's premiere, which garnered 4.4 million, and the show's previous record, 5.5 million for the sixth episode of Season 3.
