The dust has settled on the cable late-night newcomers. Following the 40-week renewal Comedy Central gave to its entry, "@midnight", in November, TBS has handed out a 13-week pickup to its midnight series, "The Pete Holmes Show".

New episodes of "The Pete Holmes Show", executive produced by Jeff Ross, David Kissinger, Nick Bernstein, Dave Rath and Conan O’Brien, are set to begin Feb. 24 and will continue to air Monday-Thursday nights, following "Conan".

The half-hour "Pete Holmes Show", which mixes live comedy, sketches and video piece, started off with a seven-week run last fall. It was not a breakout hit the way "@midnight" was and was outranked by its Comedy Central rival in all key demos. Still, the show boasts a likable host and has averaged an OK audience of nearly half a million viewers with a median age of 36.

Its viral videos, like the X-Men parodies and interviews with Olympian Lolo Jones and NBA all star James Harden, have amassed more than 20 million views on YouTube and Pete Holmes.com.

“The first 28 episodes were a joy to make, and I’m so thrilled we get to keep going,” Holmes said.

“We have so much more we want to do, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to make great comedy, continue to evolve the show and really push the limits of potty language and tasteful male nudity.”
