Exciting news if you're an Alabama football fan. the crimson tide could be seeing games against Washington, Washington State, Rutgers & Nebraska in the future a source close to the University reported the crimson tide were in talks for a home and home against both the Washington Huskie's and Washington State Cougars. the tide has played both a total 5 times and lead the series against both. another source close to the school said the tide were also in talks for a neutral sight game against either Nebraska or Rutgers the tide has met both a total of 7 times and leads the series against both an official said neutral sight games against the huskies and cougars in the future were also possible in addition to the potential home & home. all games are said to be in the early talk stages and still a long way off. Auburn athletic director Jay Jacobs has said the tigers are close to scheduling a power 5 opponent for 2016/2017 rumors are the opponent could wind up being Clemson both teams have met three times recently 2010, 2011, & 2012 with Auburn only winning one of the meetings (2010) Auburn currently leads the overall series against Clemson 34-13-2 other potential opponents mentioned are Texas. FSU, Georgia Tech, TCU , Oklahoma State, UNC . the only game currently on Auburns 2016 schedule is Arkansas State

bold prediction for 2014 season Florida will beat Alabama on September 20th

im not really a football fan but I live in big 12 country and two games I keep hearing about are WVU vs Alabama & FSU vs Oklahoma State do you think either of those games have a chance at being a big upset to shake the college football world?

answer to your question...........No I don't expect either of those teams (FSU & bama) to lose either of those games. especially not Bama I do think one of those games will be a little more competitive than the other however .

Bama and West Virginia - I think will more than likely end up being a big blowout in favor of the tide West Virginia may get lucky and keep it somewhat competitive for the first 5 1/2 minutes of the 1st half but I expect the final to look something like - 48-17 Bama.


FSU and Oklahoma State - is a game I think that will end up being one of the best competitive games of week 1 I wouldn't really call it an upset if Okie State won because this Oklahoma State team has sort of came into its own during the last two-three seasons i'd expect the final outcome to be something like - 46-35 FSU. (if you like games with lots of points this is it)

Former Auburn tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen, a key member of the Tigers' 2010 National Championship team, died Sunday morning after an auto accident.

According to Gordy Wright, director of the Georgia State Patrol Public Information Office, authorities were called at approximately 3:05 a.m. to investigate a one-vehicle crash in Troup County, Ga., that resulted in two fatalities.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Upper Big Springs Road and Lower Big Springs Road, just south of LaGrange.

"A 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling on Upper Big Springs Road and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Lower Big Springs Road. The Vehicle traveled approximately 451 feet out of control through a church yard and overturned several times before coming to rest on its roof," Wright said in a statement.

Lutzenkirchen, 23, was a passenger in the car and was ejected from the vehicle.

Driver Joseph Ian Davis, 22, was partially ejected and was also killed in the crash. Blood was drawn from the driver to determine if alcohol impairment was a contributing factor.

Also injured in the crash were Elizabeth Ann Seaton Craig, 22, and Christian Tanner Case, 20. Craig – who was ejected in the crash – was taken to West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange. She sustained internal injuries and is still hospitalized.

Case – who was the only person wearing a seat belt during the crash – was treated and released from West Georgia Medical.

Wright said it will be several weeks until the results of the blood test will be revealed. The group reportedly had visited a convenience store prior to the accident.

Lutzenkirchen caught 59 passes for 628 yards and 14 touchdowns at Auburn.

He recently began working in Montgomery, and volunteered as an assistant coach at St. James. He mentored St. James tight end Jalen Harris, who committed to Auburn on Tuesday.

"I swear nobody can feel my pain right now. I loved this man so much, he was one of the best things that ever happened to me. RIP Coach Lutz," Harris tweeted.

I wouldn't really call this a bold prediction because I think its very likely both will be undefeated by the time they see each other The Tigers & Bulldogs have played some real tight games between each other during the last few years and if history is any indication this year will be no different with Mississippi State & Dan Mullen looking to bark all night long with their new dangerous QB Dak Prescott and the gus bus looking to be in full speed with nick marshall and jeremy johnson . and how fitting that this game falls right in the middle of October a time where all sorts of ghosts. goblins. vampires. werewolves & witches are starting to come out and cause all sorts of chaos and mischief in the words of Boris Karloff "this game will be a thriller"

Ole Miss will beat Alabama

i know i said a few weeks ago florida would upset the tide but im not feeling as strong about that as i was. if bama loses to anyone before LSU or Auburn then I think more than likely its gonna be Ole Miss.

this is another that I wouldn't really call a bold prediction and heres why this ole miss team i think this year has a real good shot at being possibly 2nd or 3rd place in the west and they are very likely going to be undefeated by the time they see Alabama. (assuming they get past vandy and boise state) this is an ole miss team who last year in tuscaloosa was simply humiliated . bo wallace felt his squad was good enough to beat alabama for the first time since 2003 and obviously they weren't. however sunshine bo wallace is a senior this year so obviously he'll be wanting to make a strong statement during his final year of college ball and what better way to boost his draft stock by beating a team thats won the sec its past two national titles (alabama)

Maryland? personally i've thought the Terps belonged in the SEC over the Big Ten it would've gave the SEC the DC footprint they've been hoping to gain by one day adding Virginia Tech. Maryland would've brought the SEC more of the DC market than the hokies . all respect to Mizzou & A&M because they turned out being better additions than most expected but IMO slive dropped the ball by not adding maryland as well.

with that said I think more than likely our final two teams would be two of the five NC State/Virginia Tech - I doubt we'd be able to snatch two ACC Teams and if it came down to one i'd think Nc State would be the most likely

ECU/SMU/UCF - Ecu would give us more exposure into the eastern part of Carolina but if we were to add NC State i doubt we'd go after ECU. SMU is the only other texas team I could see us looking at besides Houston (Cougars) or Texas. UCF possibly most interesting selection for conference realignment

fsu clemson louisville miami and georgia tech wont happen because of florida. uga. kentucky. and south carolina agreeing to block any admittance from their rivals

and we all know conference expansion wont stay dead it may be dead for now but i'd be shocked if it didn't start back up in the next 4-5 years because a 4 team college playoff isn't going to please everyone for long eventually we'll have to go to a 8 team playoff . then a 16 team playoff and so on and once that happens conference expansion will come back with new life and you'll have more teams looking for new conferences to call home

college football fans could soon be required to have a permit to tailgate in or around college campuses the requirement could take place as soon as 2016

two blog writers maria mowan and joel bigom have been pondering if female college cheerleaders should start wearing more revealing clothing similar to nfl cheerleaders a poll was conducted from both blog sites and revealed that majority of college football fans would love to see female college cheerleaders in skimpy outfits

and lastly there is an ongoing arguement of should the military academy's navy . air force. and army be granted automatic admission into the college football playoff should either of them finish undefeated

It's possible Air Force could go undefeated sometime, but they never have to my knowledge.

Army and Navy have losses already this season -- and they always play some tough teams, it's not likely that either goes undefeated.

Interesting though -- I was unaware of that discussion.
