On Wed. Jan 1. on CBC and NBC at 1 pm, the NHL will present its annual holiday hit, the Winter Classic, live from Michigan Stadium "The Big House", just outside Detroit as the Red Wings :mad: will host the Toronto Maple Leafs :) :) .
Leading up to the big event, HBO as well as HBO Canada and Sportsnet will present their Emmy-winning documentary 24/7 - Road to the Winter Classic

For a first show I thought it was OK if a little dull in some places (the Red Wings segments). The best parts were, in my opinion, Randy Carlyle and his toaster, Dion Phaneuf and his closet, complete with 2 Elisha Cuthbert sightings, and Joffrey Lupul's R-Rated fight vs the Kings.
I imagine Part 2 will be a lot better. It will be on tonight on HBO and tomorrow at 7:30 pm on Sportsnet. Tonight the Leafs and Wings will play each other in Toronto so there should be plenty of material for Part 3. Hopefully Phaneuf & the Leafs can give the show a "Happy Ending". :lol:
