What’s your kitty kindred spirit? Do you think you’d be a mild-mannered American shorthair, or maybe an outgoing Cornish Rex? See if any of the personality traits below match yours, and you might find a cat breed that’s just like you!

Are you talkative, adventurous, smart, and perhaps a little clumsy?

Then you’d be a… Siamese cat!

Highly intelligent and obsessed with playing, Siamese cats are always looking for something fun to do. Pull out the mouse on a string, and a Siamese cat will be entertained for hours! They are also heavy meowers, and these chatterboxes constantly want to communicate. You’d also identify with Siamese cats if you’re very clever – as these kitties often figure out how to open doors.

Are you an intuitive, quick-learner who loves to have fun but doesn’t like change?

Then you’d be a… Russian Blue cat!

Super playful and very smart, Russian Blues often play fetch and carry on games for as long as they can. (We have a Russian Blue who will play fetch with a toy, headband, sock…. anything!) They love being around people and can keep themselves amused for hours, and also have a keen sense for human emotions – a Russian Blue can tell if you’re sad and might stroll over to comfort you. They don’t deal well with change, though – alter your cat’s routine, and you’ll hear about it!

Are you quiet, sweet, easygoing, and affectionate, though a bit standoffish when first meeting people?

Then you’d be a… Persian cat!

Full of love but definitely one who needs to warm up to you, Persians shower humans with affection once these kitties decide to trust us. A soft meow and gentle demeanor earn Persian cats lots of attention, which they absolutely adore – though these kitties aren’t divas. Rarely rambunctious, Persian cats do walk with a certain swagger of elegance but are very calm and laid-back. And though not hyperactive, Persian cats still enjoy a fun round of playing.

Are you independent, sociable, laid-back, and a little goofy?

Then you’d be a… Maine Coon cat!

These big, fluffy furballs love interacting with people, so don’t be surprised to see a Maine Coon stroll over to the action and try to get a little attention. You can always count on them to take a seat next to you on the couch, looking for a buddy to hang out with. Playful even as adults, Maine Coons are social butterflies who like to have fun but won’t be too aggressive about getting your attention. Though not needy, Maine Coons remain devoted to their human family.

Are you assertive, mature, loyal, energetic, and maybe a bit nosy?

Then you’d be an… Abyssinian cat!

These striking felines are smart and loving, always loyal to their family members. They can definitely be curious and even a bit nosy, always wanting to know what you’re up to and where you are – mostly because Abyssinians don’t like being alone. They like to know what you’re doing and are very excited to see you if you’ve been gone, and Abyssinians absolutely love to play. They’ve also been known to become the alpha dog when living with pups!

Of course, just like humans, no two cats are the same – looking at general breed traits is interesting, but genetics aren’t the only things that decide a kitty’s personality. In the end, we’d say your kitty kindred spirit is likely the cat you already have!

personally? The owner does not choose the cat. the cat chooses you. The cat that bounds up to you and hold on to you, the cat that seems like its already part of the family the first time you hold it. Thats the cat you should choose. Look around and find which cat chooses YOU.
