Hey guys,
There are 3 teams in the NFC that are fighting for Playoff Spots or trying to hang in there for that matter
The Dallas Cowboys, the New Orleans Saints and the Detroit Lion
Ever since their win on Thanksgiving Day against the Oakland Raiders, the Cowboys took a long needed rest and a week and a half later, the Cowboys would lose 2 games in a row to 2 NFC North Division Teams:
The Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers
The Bears CRUSHED the Cowboys last week on Monday Night Football in the Windy City 45-28 and then, this past Sunday, the Cowboys suffered a devastating lost to the Green Bay Packers after the Cowboys lead in the 1st Half 26-3, the Packers pulled a Tom Brady and made a comeback in the 2nd Half when the Packers offense stepped up against the Cowboys' defense and won 37-36 and even in the last play, Romo threw an interception which ended the game
The Saints are also not having a great month in December ever since taking 10 days off after sweeping the Atlanta Falcons on the Thursday before Thanksgiving as they lost 2 straight games on the road against 2 NFC West Division Teams:
The Seattle Seahawks and the St. Louis Rams
2 weeks ago on Monday Night Football, the Saints who lost 2 Road Games against 2 AFC East Teams in the New England Patriots and the New York Jets went to Seattle and played the Seahawks and they were dominant over the Who Dat Nation with a score of 33-7 making it the worst lost since the Drew Brees/Sean Peyton Era and after the game, to add insult to injury, the Saints spent another night in Seattle when their plane broke down, but thankfully for the team, they left the next night and this past Sunday, they went to St. Louis, MO to face the Rams and the Rams were once again dominant over the Saints as Drew Brees threw 2 Interceptions and even fumbled the ball allowing the Rams to recover and to make matters worse, their kicker Garrett Hartley missed 2 Field Goals and as a result, the Saints suffered another big time lost on the road against the Rams with a score of 27-16
also, this past Tuesday, the Saints released Garrett Hartley
and last, but certainly not least, the Detroit Lions are also not a good month thus far either
after getting their 1st win on Thanksgiving Day in 10 years against their Division Rival Green Bay Packers, the Lions have also lost 2 consecutive games to 2 teams:
The Philadelphia Eagles and the Baltimore Ravens
The Lions traveling to Philadelphia against the Eagles and boy it was snowing over there as the Lions were leading in the 1st Half with a score of 8-0 and then they were leading in the 3rd Quarter 14-6, but it was CRUNCH TIME for the Eagles as they made a comeback as they made 3 Touchdowns allowing the Eagles to clinch another victory over the Lions with a score of 34-20
and this past Monday Night on Monday Night Football, the Lions returned to Detroit to host the Defending World Champion Baltimore Ravens
The Lions were in control of the 1st Quarter as Reggie Bush runs for 14 yards in a drive of 8 plays and 78 yards in 4 Minutes and 3 Seconds
and in the 2nd Quarter, the Ravens answered back as Justin Tucker kicked 3 Field Goals
1st Kick was 29-yards, the 2nd one was 24-yards and the 3rd one with a 32-yard Field Goal
But it was the 2nd Half that made the difference as Matthew Stafford had 3 turnovers by throwing 3 Interceptions
The 3rd Quarter saw Justin Tucker make a Field Goal of 49-yards for the Ravens, but the Lions answered right back with a Field Goal of their own as David Akers makes a 40 yard Kick to make the game even closer, but it was in the 4th Quarter that Tucker replied with another Field Goal of 53-yards and then, the Lions answered right back as Joseph Fauria catches a 14 yard pass from Matthew Stafford for a Touchdown, but then missed a 2-point conversion as Matthew Stafford threw the ball to Calvin Johnson and missed
But it was after the Final 2:00 Warning that Justin Tucker made a record setting 61-yard Field Goal and with 38 seconds left on the clock, the Lions were in control of the ball, but then Matthew Stafford threw the ball and it was intercepted and with 30 seconds left on the clock, the Ravens dropped to the knee to clinch another win
During the 2nd Half of the Game, Matthew Stafford threw 3 Interceptions and Calvin Johnson just could not hold on to the Football for a Complete Pass many times
Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson were certainly not themselves that night
Well guys, with the playoffs just 2 weeks away, the Cowboys, the Saints and the Lions Playoff Berth could be in some serious jeopardy
Can these 3 teams make it or will they break it?
That's the Question!
Next Week, the Cowboys will travel to Washington to take on the Redskins and then the following week, they will travel to Washington to take on the Redskins while the Saints will travel to Carolina to take on the Panthers and the Lions will host their last Regular Season Game @ home against the New York GIANTS
and then, the following week, the Saints will return home to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers while the Lions will travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings and the Cowboys will return home one last time to take on the Eagles
