There are so many movies that have reached the 100 million dollar or more box office level that I wouldn't even take the time to view on free broadcast television.I just can't even begin to understand the appeal of certain movies and I know I am not alone. Just because a movie is a mega-hit, doesn't mean it's worth a moment's time to look at.

Jackass
Hunger Games
SAW
Avatar
Thor
The Hobbit
. . .I can go on and on and on. . . .

With ticket prices as high as they are it's pretty easy for a movie to reach 100 million. A blockbuster used to be the two or three movies a year that performed better than the rest. In the 70's and 80's that was any movie that made over 100 million. I think to qualify as a blockbuster a movie should make at least 300 million now.

Why do you have to understand the appeal? People have different tastes plain and simple. And I don't judge movies on whether they are mega hits or not I judge them on if they entertain me.

That being said- Titanic, and Batman Begins I'm not a fan of.
