Anyone know which is the better way to go for seasons 1 and 2?
Rhino Seasons 1 & 2 OOP
Australian Series 1 & 2, Region Free
Do either of them have extra material?
As far as season 3 goes, I will go with MPI.

The RHINO versions have poor quality prints with damage, especially in episodes "Loaf of Bread..." season 1 and "Martin's Favorite Martian" season 2
While I do not have the Australian MFM dvds, I know season 1 does have extras--a commentary by actress Ann Marshall. among others, But Australian season 2 has no extras to my knowledge. I was informed that more care was taken to provide excellent prints for the Australian dvd, so I would recommend getting those versions. But again, I have not watched them myself.

Australian version is the way to go. I own both Australian Umbrella Entertainment seasons 1 & 2 but stuck with MPI's season 3 because I read reviews that the prints were of higher quality compared to the season 3 OZ ones.
Most of my season 1 DVDs had that foggy residue on them but still plays great. Season 2 luckily the DVD merry-go-round holders were not the clear plastic versions instead a darker plastic was used so no residue on those discs.
I detest the OOP U.S. double-sided DVDs of MFM so was happy Australian single-sided ones were available.

Since the last post, MPI has released seasons 1 and 2. I have Seasons 1 & 3 by MPI, and plan to get season 2, released in December. I'm glad I waited and didn't buy the Rhino sets.

I bought the season 1 & 2 sets after they went OOP and I paid quite a bit for them but I still plan on buying the new MPI sets just because I HATE double-sided discs.
