This is great news! Hopefully they release seasons two and three as well. Then I can watch it all from the episode of "The Danny Thomas Show", introducing Andy Taylor and Mayberry to all eight seasons of "The Andy Griffith Show" to all three seasons of "Mayberry, R.F.D." and conclude it with the reunion movie "Return to Mayberry." I could also include "Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C." but I think I'd prefer to stick to Mayberry and treat it all as one series.

Finally! Its about time! Isn't Andy & Helen's wedding the first episode of MRFD?

Yep Andy and Helen marry on the first episode. Also Don Knotts makes his final appearance as Barney in that episode as well.

Great news about the DVD. I always enjoyed this show.

Some of the characters from TAGS made appearances on Gomer Pyle.

I've always thought Mayberry RFD is a "friendlier" show than the Andy Griffith Show is. Something about Andy Griffith just rubs me the wrong way, I've never been a fan of his. Ken Berry however, is likeable, so is Arlene Golonka. While I'm curious to see Mayberry RFD again, I don't know if I want to buy the DVD's or not. The 1st season of Gentle Ben is now out on DVD, I am curious to see this show again also, but unsure if I want to buy the DVD's. Mayberry RFD and Gentle Ben are borderline shows for me. In a way I like them and would be interested to see the episodes, but I'm not really motivated to spend money on the DVD's.

I enjoyed the show but have put a personal moratorium on buying any more DVDs. Nevertheless, I'm delighted to hear of the release and that those who want to own it will soon have that opportunity.

Looks like this is now out of print and it's going for some seriously outrageous high prices on Amazon.

Glad I bought it when it was cheap!

Interesting. It also probably means they'll never finish the series on DVD.

Warner Bros. is re-releasing the first season as a MOD release. I'd rather they just go on to season two but at any rate, this is a good sign. Maybe the second and third seasons are on their way, but first WB wanted to make the first season available again for those who missed out the first time around.

^^^Hoping this news also brings seasons 2 & 3. I have those episodes recorded from MeTV airings but I'd love to have them officially.
