Comedy Central is locking in its flagship series for three more years, giving Daniel Tosh’s "Tosh.0" a three-season renewal. The first new season under the deal, the upcoming Season 6, will consist of 30 episodes and will premiere on Feb. 18. The renewal news comes as "Tosh.0" wraps its fifth season tonight.
“We believe Tosh.0 has the potential to resonate with our audience, and we want to give it time to connect,” Comedy Central’s president Kent Alterman quipped.
Added Tosh, “I am extremely fortunate and very grateful that I can continue to work with such fun and talented people on a very supportive network. Sorry for the lack of snark – I will leave that open for the comments section.”
This fall, "Tosh.0" ranks as the #1 entertainment series on all of television on Tuesday nights among Men 18-24. It averages 3.0 million total viewers and a 2.2 in Adults 18-49.
Three-year renewals are reserved only for top performers. Comedy Central’s other marquee primteime series, "South Park", also has a three-season pickup, and the network’s highly rated late-night franchises "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report" also get multi-year orders.

Comedy Central and Daniel Tosh have reached a contract extension for three additional seasons of "Tosh.0". The new deal will keep the viral video-themed show on Comedy Central through 2020, serving as Tuesday night anchor.
Season 10 is set to debut on Tuesday, March 27.
“Knowing when to move on in show business is highly overrated,” said Tosh.
Added Kent Alterman, President, Comedy Central, “I know it makes Daniel uncomfortable to publicly acknowledge our love and affection for each other, but we couldn’t be more thrilled to extend our relationship with him.”
"Tosh.0" was a breakout hit when it premiered on June 4, 2009. The weekly, topical series, which delves into all aspects of the Internet — from the absolutely absurd to the incredibly ingenious — via biting commentary by comedian Tosh, broke multiple ratings records for Comedy Central early in its run.
Nine seasons in, it remains one of the network’s highest rated series. Each episode includes a “CeWEBrity Profile” or Tosh giving subjects of notorious viral videos a second chance to redeem themselves from the embarrassment with which they have become synonymous with their very own “Web Redemption.”
It is the longest-running live-action primetime series on Comedy Central and the third longest-running overall only behind staples "The Daily Show" and "South Park".

Still hoping this show will get cancelled sometime soon-ish. It's nothing but complete garbage. I'd rank it right next to Ridiculousness for such a waste of money, time and programming.

Comedy Central continues to invest in Daniel Tosh.
The ViacomCBS-owned cable network has handed out a massive four-season, 80-episode renewal for "Tosh.0" and signed the comedian to a sweeping overall deal. The pickup takes the viral video show through its 16th season in 2024; season 12 is due this year.
The overall deal will see the stand-up comic create and develop new projects for Comedy Central that could feature Tosh on camera as well as vehicles for others. Talks are currently underway for an unscripted series that Tosh would host and exec produce as well as a script deal for which he would serve as an exec producer.

Another Comedy Central staple is saying goodbye a little sooner than expected: The pop culture clip show "Tosh.0" will end with Season 12, reversing the network’s previous decision to renew the show.
Back in January, Comedy Central picked up "Tosh.0" for four more seasons, ensuring it would stay on the air through at least Season 16. But this new development will bring the show to an end this fall, though ViacomCBS reportedly plans to shop it to other outlets.
“I look forward to doing an animated reboot of my show on MTV in 25 years,” host Daniel Tosh said in a statement.

ViacomCBS network is going all-in on adult animation
The finale (https://www.reddit.com/r/television/comments/k0cv6i/how_the_tosh0_finale_marks_the_end_of_an_era_at/) of “Tosh.0” on Tuesday marks the end of an era for Comedy Central, one that was dominated by talent-driven variety series that helped to launch the careers of Amy Schumer and Jordan Peele.
But as the long-running clip show hosted by Daniel Tosh ends its 12-year run, Comedy Central finds itself in a much different world. When “Tosh.O” premiered in June 2009, President-elect Joe Biden was a few months into his tenure as vice president, Netflix was the company that mailed you DVDs and the cable bundle was thriving.
