He is almost the polar opposite. DHP was asked in an interview once if he would be friends with Niles and he said no. He said that Niles would get on his nerves and he would probably want to kill him. LOL. That shows you just how good of an actor he is. :D Kelsey Grammer is also nothing like Frasier. Betty White is nothing like her character of Rose on The Golden Girls. She was originally going to play Blanche but the role went to Rue McClanahan instead. But Betty definitely made the role her own. Bob Saget is notihing like Danny Tanner on Full House. He hates that he still gets stereotyped as Danny Tanner. But hey, that's what happens when you play one role for so long! Jaleel White was nothing like Steve Urkel. As you know Steve was nerdy and clumsy and not that good looking. But Jaleel was good looking, coordinated and not a nerd! treky 12-11-2013, 12:44 AM Ted Knight was nothing like Ted Baxter on TMTS. In fact, he wanted to leave the show in the 2nd season because he thought that people would think he really was that way. Carroll O'Conner was nothing like Archie Bunker. Raymond Bailey was nothing like Mr. Drysdale on THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES. In real life he was quiet, kept to himself a lot, didn't really talk to people, was temperamental and didn't have many friends. Zoneboy 12-11-2013, 01:06 AM Alot of people seem to think that the characters Actors and Actresses play on shows is what they are really like in real life. And those people have no business owning a TV set. 70s show watcher 12-11-2013, 05:31 AM kurtwood smith who played red forman on that 70s show is nothing at all like red red is loud and grouchy kurtwood smith has the rep of being an easygoing laid back type of man Chocolate Moose 12-11-2013, 11:12 AM Henry Winkler and The Fonz. he's actually very shy in real life. treky 12-11-2013, 06:28 PM Henry Winkler and The Fonz. he's actually very shy in real life. and he's terrified of motorcycles. Neutronman67 12-13-2013, 09:02 AM Jaleel White was nothing like Steve Urkel and Stefan in real life he was more of a nice guy that could not date girls until he was 18, he also played basketball alot back in the 1990's. MacLeaper 12-13-2013, 01:40 PM Steve Urkel played basketball too- he was pretty good at it. He even teamed with Larry Johnson on one episode.:) (Though Larry was portraying Steve's grandma- lol.) DJM77 12-13-2013, 07:38 PM Larry was portraying Steve's grandma- lol. Sure about that? I thought Larry was portraying "Grandmama" AKA the character from all of those Converse commercials that were around at the time. EDIT: Maybe Grandmama was supposed to be Steve's Grandma. I don't remember. megamanj2004 12-13-2013, 08:04 PM I heard that Alan Alda wasn't anything like his womanizing character on M*A*S*H MacLeaper 12-16-2013, 11:21 AM Sure about that? I thought Larry was portraying "Grandmama" AKA the character from all of those Converse commercials that were around at the time. EDIT: Maybe Grandmama was supposed to be Steve's Grandma. I don't remember. Ah- you may be right on that. Wow- I'd forgotten those commercials. The character was definitely called Grandmama and I think it was supposed to be Steve's grandmother- but I may be misremembering it too- it's been a long time since I've seen that episode. Yong Fang 12-20-2013, 03:53 AM Alda has been married to the same woman for over 50 years. Maybe the only woman Alda has ever slept with. MacLeaper 12-20-2013, 10:52 AM Well, hopefully Alan Alda didn't sleep with any women except for his wife after they got married. Good to see a marriage that has lasted for so long, particularly in Hollywood where they seem to be so few and far between. Yong Fang 12-21-2013, 05:32 AM While on a MASH these, Larry Linville. Everyone on the cast stated that Larry was a good guy, a very nice, professional person that everyone liked and got along with. He was a good friend with. Gary Burghoff (who supposedly is somewhat of a jerk.....or not). Someone did report that when Larry did get frustrated or annoyed, the Burns character sort of reared its head, especially in his mannerisms. Larry himself stated he based the character on a collection of all the jerks he met in life. Larry was also a very intelligent man who was actually an engineer and a builder. This probably would have been his vocation if he failed at acting. Jamie Farr has stated that he had somewhat of a low opinion of Alan Alda. Thought he hijacked the program and he seemed to be jealous of his post show success versus the other actors including himself. Neutronman67 12-22-2013, 01:08 PM Alan Alda was a celebrity i am sure plenty of women wanted to sleep with him in his younger days. liane49 12-22-2013, 03:51 PM Jaleel White was nothing like Steve Urkel and Stefan in real life he was more of a nice guy that could not date girls until he was 18, he also played basketball alot back in the 1990's. I don't see how anybody could be like Steve Urkle in real life. liane49 12-22-2013, 03:54 PM David Hyde Pierce is nothing and I mean NOTHING like Niles on Frasier! He is almost the polar opposite. Neutronman67 12-29-2013, 03:50 PM I don't see how anybody could be like Steve Urkle in real life. Their was a man on the Maury show who was a nerd like Steve Urkel he dressed similar to him and had thick glasses, he went on that reality show to change his appearance for a new life actually his mom made him go on the show because he had no social life other than building computers. Neutronman67 12-29-2013, 03:53 PM Erick Stonestreet on Mondern Family is not gaye in real life like some people think he is. The blonde kid from that 80's show Who's the Boss is gay in real life. |
