Soft Kitty from The Big Bang Theory HIMYM when Barney sings NOthing suits me like a suit and of course Let's Go to the Mall Of course The Partridge Family and the musical episodes of Scrubs it would be nice if you would say what HIMYM is!:) MacLeaper 12-11-2013, 01:25 PM Mrs. Carol Brady famously sang "O Come All Ye Faithful" on "The Voice of Christmas" episode of "The Brady Bunch".:) And to name episodes from TV shows where characters sing is a task that could stretch on for quite a while. There are numerous examples....... There was Jesse and the Rippers and all of Uncle Jesse's other musical ventures on "Full House"- a ton of times various cast members broke out into song. Various cast members have sung songs on "Family Matters". I'm pretty sure Wilson has sung a few songs for Tim on "Home Improvement"- and I know Tim has sung a few lines of songs for Al (usually to annoy him with a stupid joke.) Practically every episode of Sesame Street has the cast breaking out into song. Every episode of "The Muppet Show" has the cast singing at least one song. Every episode of "Fraggle Rock" (both live action and animated series) has at least one song. I'm pretty sure every episode of "Cop Rock" had the cast singing. "Rags to Riches" consistently featured singing in most all episodes. I'm pretty sure there was a lot of singing on "Fame" as well. Various characters have sung songs on "Boy Meets World" (I particularly recall Cory singing "The First Noel" on a Christmas episode right offhand.) Characters have sung songs at various times on "MacGyver". Sam Beckett found himself having to perform songs a number of times on "Quantum Leap". (And some he just sang because he wanted to- not because he had Leaped into Elvis Presley or something.) I'm pretty sure various characters have sung on "Early Edition" as well. ALF and others have sang on various episodes of "ALF". ................ DJM77 12-11-2013, 06:41 PM Roger Thomas and Dwayne Nelson from What's Happening both had episodes where they sang. Whether they could sing or not is pretty arguable though. ThomasE 12-11-2013, 07:15 PM Character Pamela and Gina from "Martin" did sing a few times. They had it going on when it came to vocals. HugeBensonFan 12-11-2013, 07:59 PM How about Linda Lavin from the show Alice? She sang a lot on that show and she sang the theme song, whether it's good or bad, that's for opinion. And of course Robert Guillaume from Benson, who I think has an incredible voice. He sung a bunch of songs, with O Holy Night being a highlight! MacLeaper 12-12-2013, 11:15 AM The cast sang at times on "Saved By the Bell". And of course, there was the Zack Attack band featured in a few episodes, so we definitely heard some singing there. I think there may have been a few songs sung on "The Patridge Family" too.;) Neutronman67 12-13-2013, 08:46 AM Dude the cast from Saved By The Bell were not singing those kids were tricking people by pretending, they were singing to other peoples songs they just moved their mouths lol. MacLeaper 12-13-2013, 01:38 PM I don't know if it was all lip-syncing on the show- the cast's IMDB pages list songs from "Saved By the Bell" in their "Soundtrack" section (but that may not be totally accurate of course)- but nonetheless- the characters were portrayed as singing on the show. McGillicuddy 12-13-2013, 09:27 PM Gomer Pyle (Jim Nabors) Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C. Vinton Harper and Mama (Ken Berry and Vicki Lawrence) sang on Mama's Family Vivian Vance and William Frawley also sang on I Love Lucy The Brady Kids on The Brady Bunch Rob, Laura, Sally and Buddy occasionally sang on The Dick Van Dyke Show Potsie (Anson Williams) Happy Days Carmine (Eddie Mekka) Laverne & Shirley tooltime1996 12-14-2013, 06:49 PM Home Improvement- In the "Chicago Hope" episode in season 5 Tim and Jill sing "I got you babe". McGillicuddy 12-19-2013, 03:43 PM All in the Family - Archie and Edith sing in the opening credits. treky 12-20-2013, 01:05 AM and Edith & Stefanie sang in one of the later episodes. The Brady kids sang the opening theme to THE BRADY BUNCH and Florence Henderson sang in the episode THE VOICE OF CHRISTMAS. Kelsey Grammar used to sing the closing theme of FRASIER and he sang in a few episodes also on a couple episodes of CHEERS. Loretta Swit sang in an episode of MASH once. Anson William sang sometimes on HAPPY DAYS. Penny Marshall & Cindy Williams sang once on a Christmas episode of LAVERNE & SHIRLEY. Jim Nabors sang a few times on the later episodes of GOMER PYLE: U.S.M.C. Andy sang a few times on THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW. The doctor sang once or twice on STAR TREK: VOYAGER Mary Tyler Moore sang in the episode CHRISTMAS AND THE HARD LUCK KID on THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW, and the cast sang in that episode that people consider a Christmas episode for some reason. Les, Bailey, Venus and Jennifer sang once on WKRP IN CINCINATTI. MacLeaper 12-20-2013, 10:49 AM Joe Hardy sang a number of songs on The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries, mainly Shaun Cassidy's real life hits, of course. (Since Shaun Cassidy portrayed Joe Hardy and successfully built both an acting and singing career at the same time.):) loaferman 12-20-2013, 03:35 PM The trauma inducing "douche" song on Two and a Half men last season. The worst thing I have ever seen on a hit show. Yong Fang 12-21-2013, 05:01 AM Jim Nabors! Damn, what pipes. treky 12-21-2013, 05:12 AM I'm surprised that no one's mentioned that Dick, Mary & Rose Marie sang on some episodes of THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW-and in one episode Morey Amsterdam and Richard Deacon also sang. (and some of the guest stars would occasionally sing) Neutronman67 12-22-2013, 01:24 PM Eddie winslow and aunt rachel from Family Matters sings in certain episodes during the series run Fred Sanford from Sanford & Son sings a tune in a episode. The Wonder Years we finally get to see Kevin Arnold sing for the first time on the show in season 6 Kevin Deliver's Gina from Martin sings on the show SitcomsOffline 12-25-2013, 02:32 AM Moesha - Moesha Mitchell (Brandy) & Kim Parker (Countess Vaughn). Hakeem Campbell (Lamont Bentley) and "Q" (Fredro Starr) would rap on the show. There were several episodes, including one where Morris Day guest starred. The Parkers - Kim Parker (Countess Vaughn) and Stevie Van Lowe (Jenna Von Oy). "T" (Ken Lawson) would rap on the show. Again, like Moesha, there were several episodes. The Cosby Show - Two notable instances of the family singing to Cliff's parents for their anniversary. Once when Rudy was young and they sang "Cloudy Days" by Ray Charles, and then again (a different song) when Olivia came along. Living Single - There was more than one episode, but one in particular where Khadijah and Sinclair James (Queen Latifah and Kim Coles), Maxine Shaw (Erika Alexander) and Regine Hunter (Kim Fields) pretended as if they were Motown divas/Dream Girls. This episodes was mostly filler/non-canon, and one of those dream sequences (Khadijah's). Cheers - There were likely several episodes, but one in particular is when Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) sung a beautiful love song during Kareoke night, quite eloquently too given no formal training. Married With Children - There may have been more than one episode in which Peg Bundy (Katey Sagal) sang. However, the one that immediately comes to mind is when Peg, Bud and Kelly (David Faustino and Christina Applegate) impersonated The Village People and entertained a room of women at the D'Arcy's residence. Then of course, I'm sure you guys remember that David Faustino attempted to kickstart his Rap career through his character Bud Bundy (Grandmaster B), which was DOA. Amen - There are two episodes that come to mind. One was a filler/non-canon dream sequence episode, in which Deacon Ernst Frye (Sherman Hemsley) dreamed that everyone put on a show to express their appreciation of him (that included singing). The other was the First Community Church talent show, where Deacon Frye impersonated James Brown and sung "Livin' in America." If I think of any more shows, I will add them. treky 12-25-2013, 02:41 AM ONE DAY AT A TIME-once Julie & Barbara impersonated Elton John and Keeke Dee and did a duet together. biffbronson 12-25-2013, 05:32 AM Tina Cole (Katie Douglas) - My Three Sons Also Don Grady (Rob Douglas) on My Three Sons -- sings with his group The Greefs ("I'll be a good man to have around the house..."), obviously enjoying every minute of it! Petticoat Junction: In addition to the Bradley sisters mentioned in this thread, Mike Minor (Steve Elliot) sings regularly. Smiley Burnette (Charlie Pratt) also sings at times (like "Steam, Cinders, & Smoke). OH Nuts! 12-25-2013, 11:37 AM Reba McEntire on Reba. (And boy can she act too!) Neutronman67 12-27-2013, 08:45 AM The Cosby Show - Two notable instances of the family singing to Cliff's parents for their anniversary. Once when Rudy was young and they sang "Cloudy Days" by Ray Charles, and then again (a different song) when Olivia came along Yeah but the Huxtable kids were using their real voices they were singing to celebrity singers from the 1950's music they were just moving their mouths pretending they were the people that was singing the music lol. tvfan25 12-27-2013, 09:09 AM Don Knotts (Barney Fife) sang on the Andy Griffith Show. When he sung with Andy he wasn't half bad, but he was terrible in the choir. Also on the Andy Griffith Show Rafe Hollister sang a special song Aunt Bea and her girlfriends sang around the piano after getting drunk on a medicine man's elixir Briscoe & Charlene Darling and The Darling Boys sang a few songs Andy and Elly and the rest of the cast sang Away in a Manger in the Christmas episode Opie sang with his dad a couple times SitcomsOffline 12-27-2013, 07:47 PM The Cosby Show - Two notable instances of the family singing to Cliff's parents for their anniversary. Fair point. Come to think of it, I don't think there are any instances where they weren't lip-syncing. Neutronman67 12-29-2013, 02:26 PM The producers must of tried to see if the people who were playing the Huxtable kids could sing in real life, they must of been bad singers so the producers saved them humiliation by having them lip sync to celebrity singers lol. ThomasE 12-29-2013, 03:02 PM Why the Huxtable hateration? My goodness!!! biffbronson 12-30-2013, 09:22 AM Don Knotts (Barney Fife) sang on the Andy Griffith Show. Not a bad performance either! And let's remember that "bewitching" Elizabeth Montgomery--especially when she became Serena. "Hippie, Hippie, Hooray!" (1968) -- "The Ifin Song" and "Rock-a-Bye Your Baby to a Rock-and-Roll Beat"; "Serena Stops the Show" (1970) -- "I'll Blow You a Kiss in the Wind" (originally recorded by Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart) and Samantha's hilarious rendition of the "Mother Flanagan's Irish Stew" jingle she composed on the spot in a 1971 episode: "If it's for Irish stew you're carin', You don't have to go to Erin-- Ask for MOOOO-ther Flanagan And you'll buy can and ... can again!" (Incidentally, Elizabeth Montgomery hosted an episode of "Hollywood Palace" in the first year of "Bewitched's" ABC run, and she really did a fantastic job of singing and dancing!) andress_jade 01-05-2014, 02:24 PM Barbara Eden sang on an episode of I Dream of Jeannie. She was fabulous in the episode. A lot of people don't know she can sing and boy can she sing! I loved this scene in the show. :) rkw13Wk_wuU Rosslover 01-20-2014, 09:54 PM Who could ever forget Jack and Will singing with Patty Lupone on Will and Grace "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" The "Castle" episode where they sing "Piano Man" Big Bang Theory where Howard sings to Bernadette and Sheldon sings to "To Life" from Fiddler. or when Howard and Amy sing Neil Diamond Ohio8 02-03-2014, 09:23 PM Friends/Monica sang "Delta Dawn" in the "TOW Monica Sings" episode. waichingliu81 02-03-2014, 10:06 PM musical chairs - the Jamie foxx show Caroline and the cat dancer, Caroline and the singer - Caroline in the city unforgettable - hangin' with Mr cooper |
