Now I can go back and watch with adult eyes!

I loved Murphy Brown when I was a kid. I watched it faithfully from 91 (when I was four) until I was around 8 because Miles left..and he was always my favorite. And, the show jumped the bloody shark after he left. IMO. Maybe it was just because GS was my first TV crush. Ha. (Well, him and Mark Linn-Baker)

Watching the pilot now and I am ROFL'ing. I never got to see this one unedited before because I was only 1 when the show premiered. However, from watching it in syndication as a teenager. I did notice that scenes were missing from this episode on TV Land and they are not missing on Encore. So, these are indeed the master tapes! Hallelujah! Now we get to see Murphy Brown uncut again. Just like it was on CBS!

Just a heads up:

Season 2 starts Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 7PM on Encore Classic. This is when I'll start recording the episodes to DVD because I already own season 1 on DVD.

Me too, although I have gotten a lot of season 2 off of the Encore On Demand.

Yeah. I cannot wait for season 2. Even though, I'm currently watching an episode from that season online. (It's the one where Miles sleeps with Mr. Cosella's wife...and Mr. Cosella thinks that Frank was the one who did it.)

I hope the show's ratings are doing good on Encore. Anyone know what they are?

I'm loving every second of season 2! It's been FOREVER since I've seen these episodes...and there's actually some I've NEVER seen. So far, my favorite episodes of season 2 are "TV or Not TV", "Miles' Big Adventure", & "And the Whiner Is...". These are awesome episodes...but I love them all! Can't wait for tonight's episode...it feels like a new primetime sitcom.

Encore flubbed tonight. They sped up the episode way too much. If they keep doing this. They can set on it.

This episode is so hard to watch like this.

I hate to sound ungrateful. But, Encore is a channel that people pay for optionally. It's not like TV Land or Hallmark who always speed up and cut episodes to make room for commercials. Why does this channel even feel the need to do this. If they do the same to Night Court tonight. I'm gonna send them an email.

Did you send them an email? I mean the commercial networks I understand, but a non-commercial network depending on subscribers puh-leeze!

How many episodes have they sped up/edited? I've been recording them all since season 2 but I haven't noticed anything strange.

I wish they'd start airing 2 episodes a night. At the rate of only 1 episode a night, it'll take years to go through all 10 seasons.

I wouldn't be so quick to blame Encore or even call/email them for that matter. The episodes are probably coming from the production company like that and they are airing them as they are. Encore would have no reason to air them edited or speed up because they are not a regular cable station.

I say this because the other classic shows being aired are unedited so there would be no reason for this one to be singled out by Encore.

Wow, which episode did they speed up? I have been watching all of them (except Season 1) and hadn't noticed anything sped up.
