As a massive fan of both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the classic television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I recently started to notice some rather bizarre comparisons between the MCU’s own Asgardian god of thunder, Thor, and the vampire slaying all-American girl next door, Buffy Summers.

I’m not just talking about the fact that they’re both super-powered individuals with long, flowing blonde hair and who have both been directed been Joss Whedon, I’m talking about some seriously blatant parallels in their adventures, personalities and lives in general.

It got to the point where I noticed enough similarities between the unlikely pairing that I could write a full list of them, so here were are.
