Paul Walker, the star of the "Fast & Furious" movie series, died Saturday in a car crash that killed two people north of Los Angeles, his publicist said. He was 40.
Walker died Saturday afternoon, Ame Van Iden told the Associated Press.
A statement on the actor's Facebook page said he was a passenger in a friend's car, and that Walker was in the area to attend a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide.
"We ... are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news," the statement said.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's department said that deputies found a car engulfed in flames when they responded to a report of a collision in the community of Valencia. Two people who were found in the car were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Santa Clarita Signal reports a red Porsche crashed into a light pole and tree and burst into flames.
Walker was working on "Fast & Furious 7" at the time of his death. He also starred in the suspense drama, "Hours," which is set for release this month.

HuntingtonM15 11-30-2013, 11:43 PM Shocking and sad news. He was way, way too young.
He was nice enough to send me a signed photo when I wrote to him on the set of "Timeline" about 10 years ago.
May he :rip:
JamesG 12-01-2013, 12:07 AM I was shocked to hear about this. Very tragic.
Besides the F&F films I liked him in Joy Ride and Running Scared.
80sTrivia 12-01-2013, 09:09 AM So terribly tragic and sad... :(

Thanks for sharing, very nice of him.
This is terribly sad news. On his way to a charity event too. I have seen a few of his films, but none of the Fast and Furious flicks.
tvfreak1987 12-01-2013, 04:33 PM Wow. I've seen several of his movies, including all Fast & Furious movies. Always liked him. So, so tragic and sad. Gone way too soon. :rip::crying:

James28 12-01-2013, 08:52 PM Anther good talent wasted in a car accident, especially if he has a film currently in production. Disappointing and shocking to lose an integral part of an active film series. :( :rip:.
Penny Lane 12-01-2013, 10:08 PM That's so sad. So young......................... RIP Paul:(
isiahthomas 12-02-2013, 01:57 PM I just heard about this yesterday and i was shocked. When i read how he died, i couldn't believe it. At first i thought Paul might've been the one driving because he seems like the type to drive fast. So sad he's gone and he was young. It's gonna be interesting to see if they're gonna finish the next Fast and the Furious. I read today that most of the movie is almost done. I liked Paul's Fast and The Furious 1,2,4,5,6, Running Scared, Joy Ride and Bobby Z movies.
Vahan 12-02-2013, 04:55 PM Wonder if they may have to dub Paul Walker's voice with someone else's? In filmmaking, it is not uncommon for such a practice to happen, if the original actor or actress died during filming.
IMDB says the film is currently "In Production".
JamesG 03-26-2014, 02:52 PM Speed to Blame for Paul Walker's Fatal Car Crash
Mar 26, 2014
by Sadie Gennis
Investigators have concluded that Paul Walker's fatal car crash in November was caused by unsafe speed and not mechanical problems, The Associated Press reports.
The Porsche Carrera GT the Fast and the Furious star and his friend Roger Rodas were traveling in was going between 81 and 94 mph in a 45-mph speed limit zone at the time of the crash, according to calculations by accident reconstruction specialists. Engineers found no issues with the car's electrical systems, brakes, throttle, fuel system and steering systems.
Rodas lost control of the vehicle on the suburban street and crashed into a light pole. Both men died at the scene.
Walker was in the midst of filming Fast and Furious 7 at the time of his death. Production was shut down for months, but recently started up again.
Walker's character Brian will still be still featured in the film, with the possibility of using CGI and body doubles for new scenes.

isiahthomas 03-29-2014, 10:48 AM I'm pissed at Paul's friend for driving fast and causing both of them to die. His dumb ass friend deserved to die but not Paul.
