Umm...the higher up in the air you go the fewer birds you'll run into? :lol: But like Max said, there could be any number of answers to this question, and without a hint I don't think anyone is just randomly going to hit it. Anything with an inverse relationship to smoething else could fit this riddle.

Warm & Fuzzy 03-06-2002, 08:29 PM Hey, I've got another one for the second question, I believe it was.
The higher the elevation, the less gravity.
The higher the heart beat, the less energy. (Not nessccarily, right?) ;)
Bootsy Whoosh 03-06-2002, 08:41 PM Max, buddy....you're driving me slowly insane. I have been pondering this pig thing for several days now. I even got my roommates thinking about it.

I know you said no hints, but honestly, I think people are going to loose interest in your puzzles if you don't start giving some soon, because they'll get way too frustrated with them (and I am teetering on that edge myself)

Czas na Zywiec 03-06-2002, 09:48 PM PIG + ? = COW
Hmm, this might be wrong, but Im gonna try anyway!
PIG + S = PIGS + MUD = DIRTY - DIRTY = CLEAN - LE = CAN + ON = CANON + Y = CANYON - ANON = COY + BOY = COYBOY + W = COY W. BOY - BOY = COY W. - Y = COW!!!!! :cool: At least I tried?

Well, Bootsy, logic will ultimately prevail. If it takes 20 years I'm sure you'll get it.

Hollow 03-06-2002, 11:35 PM PIG - PIG + COW = COW??? LOL
Pig + 30,421 = Cow
I added the alphabetical numbers:
P= 16 I= 9 G= 7 (1,697) + 30,421 = COW or (31,018)

Actually this was one of the first approaches I took to it. I was hoping the numbers would translate back into a coherent word.
At any rate, your math's a bit off.
Pig= 1697
Cow= 31523 (C=3 O=15 W=23)
so ? would = 29826
Ok now, if Max would please find it in his heart to answer this question, then maybe I won't give up just yet, but it would be really really helpful to know if there is only one thing that is supposed to fit into the "?", or if we are allowed to do things like (+ X - X + Y).

Yes, I know I messed up on, cow. Not the math, but the alphabet to math translation. Maybe the math too but anyway, how about the ? is a 9. By adding the numbers 16+9+7=32 and then 3+15+23=41 and so the ? would be 9.
Bootsy Whoosh 03-07-2002, 03:28 PM Here are a few more of my (and my roommates') random guesses:
Pig=Sow - S + C = Cow
Pig + (Cow-Pig) = Cow (I think this one may have been posted already..)
Pig + Beef = Cow (because hotdogs are usually pork products, but once you add beef to them they are called beef franks)
Pig + Death and reincarnation =Cow haha! I know that's not it... :crazy:
Pig + Genetic Engineering = Cow
Pig + Mad Scientist = Cow
Pig + Massive amounts of alcohol = Cow :cheers:
in that same tradition, Pig + LSD = Cow
hmmm...there was more but I can't remember them all....if I think of them I'll post them later

Oh he's not innocent in my book, he's not getting off "scott free" in my mind. I'm just saying I'm not pissed at him, which I'm really not. That doesn't mean I'm not irritated to hell at him for passing it on.

The letters in the sequence provided by Eric were the first letters of the numbers 1-7
O T T F F S S
So the next three letters in the sequence would be E N T for eight, nine, and ten.
