I like the cranberry sauce in the can. The one that we slice but I hate whole cranberries.

So what do you do and have on Thanksgiving then?

Not that I have a problem with that. My family and I haven't had a traditional dinner in the last five years.

My immediate family never really celebrated it, so it's like any other day for me.

I've noticed that Thanksgiving is getting more and more "skipped over" in the mainstream lately. Many start decorating for Christmas right after Halloween and Thanksgiving decorations have been dwindling drastically (at least around where I am).

I've also noticed that a lot of the Black Friday deals are now starting on Thanksgiving itself, making the employees work on the holiday.

I love the traditional Thanksgiving meal and I always have turkey on Thanksgiving day. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and I'm a traditionalist. I'm not crazy about green bean casseroles but I didn't hate them. Same with ham. And anything with Brussel sprouts or beets makes me gag--just mentioning them because any vegetable can show up as a side dish.

I love love love potatoes, pies, stuffing, cider and any kind of pie but since I'm a (mild) diabetic I'm usually very careful with these. I only have 1/4 cup of potatoes and stuffing and drink one of those zero calorie apple flavored drinks in place of cider. I also make low carb crustless pumpkin pie and cranberry sauce, which come out pretty good.

When we go to my husband's family on Thanksgiving they always have turkey AND ham cause some of them don't like turkey either! :)
