Penny Lane 11-28-2013, 10:03 AM I don't care at all for the traditional Thanksgiving meal (turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes...) Now James, that's just downright unpatriotic! Happy Thanksgiving!:turkey:  Vahan 11-28-2013, 11:50 AM I don't care at all for the traditional Thanksgiving meal (turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes...) So what do you do and have on Thanksgiving then? Not that I have a problem with that. My family and I haven't had a traditional dinner in the last five years. TVFactFan 11-28-2013, 12:41 PM Baked beans I don't like baked beans before thanksgiving, on thanksgiving, and after thanksgiving lol JamesG 11-28-2013, 01:56 PM So what do you do and have on Thanksgiving then? Not that I have a problem with that. My family and I haven't had a traditional dinner in the last five years. My immediate family never really celebrated it, so it's like any other day for me. I've noticed that Thanksgiving is getting more and more "skipped over" in the mainstream lately. Many start decorating for Christmas right after Halloween and Thanksgiving decorations have been dwindling drastically (at least around where I am). I've also noticed that a lot of the Black Friday deals are now starting on Thanksgiving itself, making the employees work on the holiday. 70s show watcher 11-28-2013, 08:48 PM yams 70s show watcher 11-28-2013, 08:49 PM happy thanksgiving everyone robyrob 11-28-2013, 09:44 PM yams and cranberry sauce, blech. 80sTrivia 11-29-2013, 08:51 AM Dressing with oysters... Yuk!!! (Well summer squash is a little better than that orange stuff but I really dont like either) we don't ever have squash. OH Nuts! 12-03-2013, 09:05 AM I love the traditional Thanksgiving meal and I always have turkey on Thanksgiving day. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and I'm a traditionalist. I'm not crazy about green bean casseroles but I didn't hate them. Same with ham. And anything with Brussel sprouts or beets makes me gag--just mentioning them because any vegetable can show up as a side dish. I love love love potatoes, pies, stuffing, cider and any kind of pie but since I'm a (mild) diabetic I'm usually very careful with these. I only have 1/4 cup of potatoes and stuffing and drink one of those zero calorie apple flavored drinks in place of cider. I also make low carb crustless pumpkin pie and cranberry sauce, which come out pretty good. gilligan fanatic 12-03-2013, 03:27 PM Cranberry sauce, brussel sprouts, stuffing icecream 12-03-2013, 05:08 PM pecan pie, don't care for nuts unless they're peanuts or almonds TVFactFan 12-03-2013, 07:27 PM Stuffing, I can't stand the taste of it.
