I think they are editing now. Because, they used the seasons 4&5 opening tonight for a season 3 episode.

Ugh. I thought a channel was actually going to a good job with this show for once.

They also edited Al saying bimbo. I think. I'm not sure if the actual line was "Hurry up and just pick a bimbo!" or not but, I remember people quoting it that way.

I ask that because the next episode was rated PG as usual on the channel, had the correct version of the opening, and seemed like the master tape again.

Yes, they used the syndicated print for that episode, just like with the Pilot. So far those were the only two syndicated episodes. I saw the abc family version and the Hub did cut out a lot at the beginning. They cut out Cody's second attempt at breaking the board with his head in the cold open and saying, "I think I heard a crack". Then at the end of the cold open Brendan says, "Boy, I sure hope kids don't try this at home!". Then after the opening Carol is giving a cup of coffee to a customer in curlers, wearing a facial mask with a cigarette in her mouth. The woman then says she hopes the make over will make her glamorous again, as she chokes from her cigarette. Carol tells her she'll look like Cybil Shepard and leads her back in the shop and mutters, "or a German Shepard". Then Al comes downstairs and complains that Carol washed all the blood stains out of her uniform.

The Hub did have an entire part that abc family didn't have though, when Mark asks to play poker with Frank, and the first few minutes of the men getting there. It just started with Cody coming in the room. Also they didn't show the tag scene at the end when Cody loses his good luck streak.

I was alittle surprised that they used the s4-5 clips in the theme song. I'm wondering if that's the version they always used in syndication, even for seasons two and three? They've shown 66 episodes so far (plus 2 Halloween eps from later seasons) and so far only 2 episodes have been syndicated versions.

Looks like both eps were syndicated versions tonight. Oh well.

At least we got the tag scene at the end of Great Expectations that had John Stamos in it and Dana pulling Karen's hair trying to get to him. LOL!

4 syndicated episodes...and I just started watching The Case Of The Missing Diary. I DVR'ed it and was watching Extra instead. It started out with the credits...and they were the season 4/5 ones as well. ABC Family didn't even do that. As much as I think those credits work well for mid-season 3. (Because of the kids growing up so much since the first season credits) It's still weird. But, honestly. I never liked this episode much anyways. So, I don't mind that this one is edited. But, I'm kinda mad that the others were. I hope the Hub don't continue this.

Also, I don't remember the season 4/5 credits being that short. Didn't they still have the water ride scene?

Nostalgia has blinding my mind....I can't remember much anymore. There's I need to clear some disc space in my brain...Also, I'm starting to sound like Cody. That isn't good.

It wasn't that short, they had a shorter version of the roller coaster scene at the beginning and it still had Teresa James' verse. The first two eps of season four had the longer version that seasons two and three had, including the water ride. After that the water ride was cut. Watch them here:

Thanks.

I've never seen the credits for seasons 4/5 butchered that short before...and now I know why. The Hub is butchering them. They didn't when they aired "Something Wild" from season 4 though around Halloween.

That theme is the syndicated versions. The Hub didn't butcher them, Warner Bros did. I hope the first two eps of s4 are unedited so we can see the full theme one more time.

ABC Family used the correct season 4 credits though with Theresa's verse left in. The Hub is not. I don't think it's WB issue. I mean. Like I said though. They did use the correct version of the season 4 theme when they aired Something Wild though.

Well like I said, ABC Family restored all the original theme songs and edited out other scenes instead. Family Matters had their original themes on ABC Family too, but now on BET it uses syndicated versions. The 50th anniversary DVD set that came with Full House season one DVD had the pilot episode of SBS and it was edited and used the syndicated theme without Teresa's part.

Thanks for that info.

I'm just wondering if they will use the original season 4 theme for actual season 4 episodes on the Hub or not. I guess we'll see soon.

Yeah, as you said, the Halloween ep used it, so I assume at least some will. I just hope the first two eps use it because those are the only two that have the long theme with the newer scenes.

Karate Kid used the long season 4 theme that you spoke of that was only used on it and the 2nd episode of season 4.

Yep! And now we see that episodes two and three were unedited as well!

Yep! And, it was nice.

I'm glad the Hub is not messing with this show too much. They are doing pretty good.

All cable channels normally air edited episodes

Even if they start out unedited at some point they will be edited

Like TV one in 2004, everything was UNCUT and now in 2013 it's CHOP CITY lol

No they didn't, they showed the entire food fight. I don't think any scenes were cut after season four because the episodes were already under 22 minutes, they just used the short theme for the syndicated eps.

I'd rather a shorter opening theme if it means unedited episodes
