If you want to see great classic TV for free, check out the link at the bottom of my page. You will love it!

If you still have your list of how you would program each "Decades" channel, I would love to see it. It sounds like a nice project and a great fun challenge to take part in. I'll try it myself and see what I can come up with.

Yeah, I've seen those links. Thanks so much for doing that! Very cool!
And when I get a chance, I'll see if I can post those schedules- I've still got them somewhere.

Inspired by this post in another thread, I thought it'd be fun to post proposed TV station lineups by decade, for those inclined to do so.
I will post some that I had come up with some years ago. Keep in mind that my main objective with these was to fill an airing schedule as much as possible with as many shows as I liked that would fall in that category. (Though I think I may have let some slip by that weren't exactly in that category just because I love them so much.) So not all of these may be very realistic as to programming, but this was just for fun and of course, it is shows that I like and think are cool, so it's highly subjective. Most of the channels will have shows that primarily ran during that decade, though some may be in there by technicality- in that they started in that decade but primarily ran in another decade. Sometimes it gets hard when you have a show that was popular in more than one decade and ran in two different decades. And obviously, it may take quite a lot of deal-making to get the rights to air all the variety of TV shows listed and such- but hey, it's an idealized list. There are also a number of short-lived shows I've included, many of which are spinoffs from more popular shows- you can generally assume that when the run of the spinoff is finished airing for a few cycles, it would probably be replaced with more episodes of the parent show for a while, until there was enough of a break to start running the spinoff series again. And as I said earlier, I made these up some years earlier just for fun and I'm just putting down what I had. :)

I really do hope the decade channels happen in the near future. It will be fun to see how many shows they air that haven't aired in forever.

They are starting in the first quarter of 2014. I'm not very hopeful that they will air anything besides the same old ****. One simple reason is elements. All of those rare shows that haven't been seen in decades haven't been transferred to modern formats and the costs of going back to the 35mm negatives or 2-inch videotapes would just be cost prohibitive. So its far more likely we'll see That Girl and Get Smart, not Love on a Rooftop or Run Buddy Run.

Great lists, mr.awesome!:)
My only suggestions would be that you definitely need to add MacGyver for the '80s, and it would probably be good to have the parent show for "Mr. T and Tina", "Welcome Back, Kotter", running on the '70s one as well.
And "Early Edition" for the '90s.
;)
(lol- j/k - I know these lists are all subjective to everyone's personal favorites- and it's cool if those aren't on your list of favorites.)
I really love the cartoon lineups, by the way- I wish classic stuff like that still aired.... as it is now, I like to have my own personal 1980s Saturday morning cartoon show with my cereal when I can. (which means whatever VHS or DVD I decide to pull out for that day.....):)

Okay- here's a channel for stuff that at least started in the 1980s or mainly ran in the 1980s- with perhaps a few exceptions here and there- mainly because I may have a spinoff show that started from a '80s show.):) (definitely one of my favorite decades here and a lot of favorite shows and things from this decade.)

Okay- there's one for me. I have a number of others that I may post later.

Thanks for posting your Decades schedules and for having me inspire them. They look very good and well thought out. The only thing I would note is that you forgot to include "The Partridge Family" in your 1970s schedule. I would probably have it at 11 am right after "The Brady Bunch". Both are great series that look even better when you view them together!

Thanks.:) And yeah- good recommendation. From all I've heard of it, "The Partridge Family" seems like a great show- I just haven't seen it and so I didn't include it. Maybe one day I'll get around to watching it- but yeah, that would definitely fit in nicely.

Okay- here's my list for the 1990s. (With shows that either started in the 1990s or mainly ran in the 1990s. And again, keep in mind that I wrote this out years ago and that my main objective was squeezing in as many shows as possible- I don't know if this is generally the best or typical TV schedule- lol. )

This sounds like so much fun that I'd like to take a crack at it myself! I'm going to do this one decade at a time and I'll just stick to the regular weekday lineups for now and maybe try to do the weekends at some other time. I'll first start out with a decade channel that for now isn't yet included in the new TV channels package but by every right it should be - that would be the 1950s:

6:00 AM Laurel & Hardy
8:00 Abbott & Costello
8:30 Amos & Andy
9:00 Life With Elizabeth
9:30 The Goldbergs
10:00 The Real McCoys
11:30 Bachelor Father

12:00 PM I Married Joan
12:30 My Little Margie
1:00 Our Miss Brooks
1:30 Mr Peepers
2:00 Three Stooges
3:00 Little Rascals
4:00 Howdy Doody
5:00 Mickey Mouse Club
5:30 Dennis The Menace
6:00 Donna Reed Show

Sweet! Great 1950s lineup.:)
I am pretty sure I've done 1950s and 1960s station listings some years ago, but I can't find them now. Maybe I'll write up new ones at some point. But this sounds pretty good for the '50s as far as I'm concerned. I'm particularly glad you remembered classic children's shows like Howdy Doody and The Mickey Mouse Club- it's good to have a balance of shows.
My only suggestions for additional shows would be "Your Show of Shows" with Sid Caesar, "Dragnet" and one of the best superhero shows ever- "Adventures of Superman" starring George Reeves.:)

Thank you. I'm glad you like the schedule. Wait until you see my 1960s schedule below. It looks like another very strong group to me. I've seen your suggestions and I'll try to get them into my weekend lineups where I'll focus more away from sitcoms and concentrate on variety shows, kids series, and a few dramas. If you like great sitcoms, the 60s was the best decade for them and somehow I've managed to get them all in for my 1960s weekday schedule. Here they are:

7:00 Rocky & Bullwinkle
7:30 Jetsons
8:00 Patty Duke Show
8:30 Hazel

Dude! That '60s schedule rocks! I really appreciate getting in the classic cartoons there too (like The Flintstones and The Jetsons). And shows like Batman and The Green Hornet- and then all those great sitcoms, including some of my favorites like I Dream of Jeannie and Gilligan's Island and Get Smart.:)
Looking forward to the groovy '70s.

Nice list. I think "I Love Lucy" still airs pretty regularly, but most all of the others have not been seen in a while...it would be good to see some of these back around.

Thanks, dude.
And hey- that is one groovy 1970s schedule! Like, far out, man.:)
My only request would be to cycle in some other classic '70s cop shows and scifi, etc. ("The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries", "Fantasy Island", "The Six Million Dollar Man", "The Bionic Woman", "Wonder Woman", "Battlestar Galactica", etc.)
Oh well- I'm just a big fan of those kind of shows. And you can't always cram in everything. But this whole thing is just for fun- and of course, it's going to be highly subjective to everyone's personal tastes. You've got tons of great stuff on there- I love seeing some of my favorite '70s sitcoms all in there- WKRP in Cincinnati, Welcome Back, Kotter, Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley and Mork & Mindy and Three's Company- great, classic and funny shows.:)
