Hi!

Is it just me, or have TPIR showcases been really cheesy lately? I have seen several in recent weeks where BOTH showcases are only about $25,000 or less. What's up with that? Generally the second showcase was almost always better than the first. The expensive sportscar, usually a forgone conclusion, especially in showcase #2 is becoming less and less seen. The expensive prizes have been replaced by a dining room set and a year's supply of chocolate! (Remember how on Let's Make A Deal as a sidenote they would try to give away the same car 3 times in a half hour? I sure hope TPIR doesn't come to that!)

You're right they are getting to be a bit cheap, but hey they're better than the ones they used to offer. I was watching a retro 1975 version and the total of both showcases was about $5000. The first was two bedroom suites on for a little girl and one for mom and dad, note both were very cheesy oh, yeah the third thing you got was a box of bubblegum oooh! The 2nd which was worth about $2400, if i remember correctly had two or three really cheap things including a single copy of a best selling novel, i think some inexpensive bedlinens, and that grand car of which you speak was , brace yourself a 1975 Ford PINTO!!. oh yeah, they also back then didn't get any cash for guesing the exact price on an item up for bid, i noticed this because twice people got it right and nobodey got cash, as well there was no wheel to spin they just took the two who had won the most 'expensive' prizes. Even thought it is going downhill, i know because my brother and his wife went on their honeymoon to try and get on it, it still has a long way to go before the sportscar they offer will be as laughable as a pinto.

They sure have. A lot of the prizes are 100% junk and impractical.
