Queen Latifah, Cedric the Entertainer, Steve Harvey and Michael Strahan have found success on daytime TV, but few black performers are prominently featured in primetime.

In TV today there is a new audience of young people who are very familiar with comedy today and with the rise of Steve Harvey being hugely popular due to the success of Family Feud and his talk show soaring in ratings in syndication this is the new successes of TV today. Cedric The Entertainer is another example of popular stars in TV today and when he also became huge with his short-lived variety comedy show Cedric The Entertainer was a successful actor and then when he got into game shows with It's Worth What and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Cedric The Entertainer's star shined even brighter. And when Queen Latifah had her talk show she became a spokesperson for Cover Girl and she is still popular with people today. GSN also gained popularity due to this trend by making actors such as Donald Faison Sherri Shepherd and Alfonso Ribeiro huge stars in the game show world and it seems to me that when you're an upcoming comedian or actor/actress hosting game shows is a route to stardom indeed. And as more shows and sitcoms are being created I think we shall see this trend continue in the coming years
