Yes, it's very difficult to pick any 'best' episodes from this lacklustre season, but I agree that "Soap Opera" is notable if nothing else but for one of Lucy's most original disguises (as the Japanese gardener--anything beats her trotting out the tired little-old-lady schtick yet again!)

I am surprised you didn't list "Lucy In the Music World" here. While the premise is totally unbelievable (a big, successful record company would hire an inept, inexperienced temp to look after things), Mel Torme is totally unremarkable as a guest star and Lucy doesn't really have any memorable block scenes here, the retro '60s, camp-tastic flavor of the 'Wing-Ding' sequence totally makes up for all its shortcomings.

I know of others that care for that episode, but I just don't think it's funny enough. However, I think Lucy looks absolutely stunning throughout the episode -- much younger than she looked in the Danfield years.

I think season four is one of the best seasons of The Lucy Show and there are more than just eight episodes that stand out. I think season four was much better than season three but that's my opinion. I loved Lucy In The Music World, Lucy and Danny Thomas and Lucy the Choirmaster, all three are classics and still hold up til today.

My favorite is "Lucy at Marineland" by not very many people agree with me.
