"Arrested Development" Star David Cross To Guest on "Community"

"Community" is showing more love for "Arrested Development".

In addition to featuring a cameo by series creator Mitch Hurwitz in an episode, the NBC comedy has now signed up David Cross for a guest spot. (Vulture first reported the news.)



The episode with Cross, which will likely air in late winter or early spring, will serve as a sequel to season 2′s 'Advanced Dungeons & Dragons'.

Cross will be playing the sour estranged son of Professor Hickey (Jonathan Banks) who joins the study group for “the second most important game of Dungeons & Dragons ever.”

When "Community's" Greendale gang learns that Professor Hickey (Jonathan Banks) wasn't invited to his grandson's birthday party, they befriend his son Hank (David Cross) and use a game of Dungeons & Dragons to reunite the *estranged family.

"The relationship between Hickey and Hank is really the heart and soul of the episode," says Ken Jeong, who says he was "star struck" acting opposite "Arrested Development's" Cross on the NBC comedy's March 20 episode.
