THUNDER BAY – November 10 marks the anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald. 2013 marks the thirty-eighth anniversary of the sinking of the ship. Remembered in song, by Gordon Lightfoot, the Edmund Fitzgerald was sunk during a storm on Lake Superior on a stormy November day.:(

The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald hit #2 in November, 1976

That song still gives me the chills. It's a masterpiece!Gordon Lightfoot has stayed in contact with the families of the 29 men who perished and I read somewhere that all the royalties from the recording have been given to the families. What a class act is Gordon Lightfoot! Sadly he had a serious illness 10 years ago and was in a coma for six weeks. He came through it and is still performing:)

He played here last year. I would have liked going to see him but I couldn't get off work. Hopefully he'll play here again soon.
