I dont think the audience would have mind if Eddy was suppose to be this nerdy scientist son of carl and harriet who spends most of his time in the basement creating new gadgets and inventions, his character could have been just like urkel clumsy and awkward and wears thick glasses and high water pants, i keep thinking if his character was originally a nerd steve urkel would have never existed, could Family Matters survived if Eddy had a nerdy personality ???

That's easy if Eddie was a nerd before Steve made his appearance that changed the lives of millions of people around the world Waldo Haraldo Faldo and his wannabe thug friend Weasel would be the right guy to stalk and humiliate Lara for the rest of the series, i guess waldo would have had to be engaged to Laura in the last episode lol.

Eddie did a good job as playing a nerd in one episode of Family Matters he wanted to be smart instead of a slacker he was all his life, so he told Steve to let him step in a transformation chamber to give him the personality like him so he can win a game show on TV lol.

Maxine would not want to put up with a horny sex crazed kid like Weasel he was also ghetto and straight out the hood listen to his Brooklyn accent lol, he would most likely cheat on Maxine with other girls he was a ladies man he was always flirting with every girl he saw he was no diff'rent than guys in their teens and early 20's trying to be a player lol, remember Maxine was strict she broke up with Waldo just because he was talking to two girls in eddies apartment haha.
