View Full Version : Predict M3S Season 3 DVD volumes bliss 11-08-2013, 11:18 PM Volume 1 - (July/August 2014) Volume 2 - (December 2014) Hazel Anyday 11-11-2013, 09:45 PM I predict they will probably louse up a season 3 release by replacing the irreplaceable background music again. This is one show where the background music is integral to the enjoyment of the show (like the '50's Superman series, can't imagine watching that either with different background music). I bought the first 3 DVD releases (Season 1 & first 1/2 of Season 2) but I must confess I was really irked with the crummy new background music that replaced the classic opening and harmonica music backgrounds. The show was more annoying to me with the music missing and replaced with crap. I couldn't take it anymore and decided not to buy the rest of season 2 and go back to my own recordings that have all the original music intact. My Nick @ Nite and TV Land recordings are a heck of a lot better than the new music commercial releases. Granted the picture quality was improved on the commercial releases and the missing 2 minutes were not edited out, but that advantage was beat over the head by the big disadvantage of crummy new musical backgrounds. Until they decide to release the series with music intact, I'll stick with my recordings. bliss 11-11-2013, 11:28 PM I predict they will probably louse up a season 3 release by replacing the irreplaceable background music again. I bought seasons 1 & 2 DVD volume sets and seen eps of the first one and like them so far. The eps are indeed beautifully remastered vs the prints on N&N years ago. So glad that CBS/Paramount didn't give us faded 16mm prints. You seem to be implying that the music replacement was an unnecessary decision, but from what I've read there was some definite reason for it -- the replacement wasn't done on a whim. Maybe someone can explain the "whys." bliss 11-24-2013, 12:12 AM I predict never They stopped at two seasons wished there was more. Not to be morbid but when Don Grady passed away [RIP] they could've had a reason to release the 3rd season (happened with Sony releasing Charlie's Angels season 4 after Farrah's death). bliss 11-24-2013, 12:13 AM You seem to be implying that the music replacement was an unnecessary decision, but from what I've read there was some definite reason for it -- the replacement wasn't done on a whim.
