I've been watching My Three Sons and Green Acres lately. I noticed that Eleanor Audley, who played Barbara's mother appeared in Green Acres in the episode I saw today. I thought it was kind of funny she appeared on 2 sitcoms where the family's name was Douglas. I wonder if she's done any other sitcoms besides these 2?

She was veryyyyy busy from the earliest days of TV, doing dozens of guest appearances in both sitcoms and dramatic series. She last appeared on Green Acres on New Year's Day 1969; a little over a year later she worked as an actress for the last time guesting on on My Three Sons. What she did for the next 21 years is not known, at least not published. Just retired I suppose.

She also played Jethro's school teacher on The Beverly Hillbillies.

Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks.

I LOVED Eleanor Audley. She was part of a stable of great character actors and actresses that populated the TV landscape in the 1950s and 1960s. Sadly, we don't have memorable character actors today, and TV has lost a lot because of it.

Eleanor Audley played Oliver's mother going back to the first episode of Green Acres and several episodes following. She may be well-known among Disney fans for providing the voice of Malificent, the villlainess of 1959's Sleeping Beauty. I saw her sometime in the last year playing a woman on a color episode of Wagon Train (rerun on Me-TV) who points her finger at that main episode's protagonist (who had been in legal trouble in her youth) and says "That girl!", which I always thought would make an excellent transition into a clip of the sitcom That Girl for a Me-TV promo.

From all that I saw, Eleanor Audley was in countless TV series during the 1950's and 1960's including: Burns & Allen, I Love Lucy, Father Knows Best, The Untouchables, Twilight Zone, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Hazel. Pistols 'n Petticoats and Mr. Ed.
