The recent death of voice actress Marcia Wallace is not the first to affect the show, with comedian Phil Hartmann’s characters being retired on his death, and it certainly isn’t the only heart-wrenching moment to affect the show.

I think it was a great list and I think my top 2 would be Mrs. K. dying and Homer's mom leaving and having Homer sitting on top of the car all alone. Despite, these 10 moments, I've never felt like it was a "sad" show, even when the moments are.
