I am putting together a Phil Donahue Show collection together. I now have 35 DVDs with Phil Donahue shows. These are my source disks and as well as Phil Donahue the DVDs also have games shows, Oprah, Disney movies and much more.

I am looking for a show that aired in the early 90s I believe in the month of May. It was about the hostage crisis in Iran and it was in 2 parts. My friends and I were in the audience and we were on camera a lot during that show. I was fortunate enough to see it back then when it aired, but my other friends were not so lucky. Would love to get a copy of that to share with them. Is there a chance you have that one? It could have been in the late 80s also, I'm unclear on the exact year.

I am a film student at NYU TISCH. Currently, I am undertaking research for a project centered around Phil Donahue.

As part of my research, I am seeking access to an archived episode of "The Phil Donahue Show" that aired on April 25, 1986, and the controversy around The Color Purple Film.

He had as a panelist Tony Brown and other guests were Willis Edwards, the president of the Beverly Hills NAACP chapter; Donald Bogle, a film historian and author of the book Toms, Coons, Mulattoes, Mammies, and Bucks; and Michele Wallace, a professor of Afro-American literature and creative writing at the University of Oklahoma and author of Black Macho: The Myth of the Superwoman.
