although sherman oaks lasted 2 seasons on showtime, i don't think there were many episodes. it was interesting. it had that low-budget, cheesy look to it, but that helped make it interesting.

TJL 03-01-2002, 01:29 AM I remember it well. Mostly becasue the daughter (Heather Parkhurst) was always in various stages of undress. Yep, those were the days, when original cable series were just about topless women.. karaokedude 03-03-2002, 09:00 PM Funny, I was just thinking today what ever happened to this show. The premise was a documentarist living with a family while videotaping their life 24/7. As was stated, the busty Parkhurst's constant nudity provided the show's most memorable moments. I also got a kick out of their pasty-skinned son, who was THOROUGHLY convinced that he was black. TJL 03-03-2002, 10:22 PM Yes, the show did have some interesting characters and a good premise, but unfortunatly it was in an era of original cable series when you had to have the weekly naked chick scene. "Dream On" did the same thing. Thankfully, cable dramas and comedies have gotten past the T&A stuff, and things have dramatically improved. |
