I watched my first 4 episodes of I Dream of Jeannie. They were all from season 3. I have never seen an episode before of Jeanie before. I plan watching many more.

Welcome to a pop-culture classic! I was too young to see the show in its original broadcast, but it was certainly a staple of morning and afternoon tv when I was a kid in the 1970's. Oddly, even though I have been watching episodes of the show for nearly 40 years, I have still not seen every episode, particularly of the first season.

You're right it is a fun and enjoyable fixture in sitcom history!

Did anyone see the comic strip Blondie from a few days ago. Dag and his son are talking about tv shows. Son says "Dad have you seen any new shows lately?". Dag says," I like the old shows better." Son says "You should see some". Dag says " Who has the time" So Dagwood is stuck in time too.

At last, At last I finally watched all the episodes of I Dream of Jeannie! It's definitely one of my all time favorite classic sitcoms of all time! Next to I Love Lucy! I know I'll be watching these episodes again and again! When I ever a feel like a "Jeannie moment" I'll just pop in a DVD!

Its really hard to think that loveable Anthony Nelson, Jeannie's master turn into such a schmuck J.R. Ewing.

Yeah really! And I would say more people would associate Larry Hagman with JR Ewing than Major Nelson, don't ya think? ;)

Well yes and no. Myself and my mom have this debate. I personally think he is better as J.R. my mom thinks Major Nelson. I always tell her J.R. would kick the oil off his boots with Major Nelson..lol

Yes, I agree, IDOJ is a very fun show. I like to watch it when I need a good laugh. And the comic timing of Larry Hagman is fantastic. All the actors did wonderfully in their roles.

I really like the ones with Jeannie's sister.

Pity there weren't more. Her sister is one of the best characters on the show, her machinations were supreme.

Her sister also makes a prominent return in "IDOJ: 15 years Later" as well, which I recently watched. Apart from changing the genie boing sound effect for absolutely no reason, IDOJ15YL feels like a continuation of the original series, and I'm a sucker for the updated 80s music and even hairdos (of which Jeannie's sister wears quite a few that must have required hours for each in the dressing room.)

I love IDOJ 15 years later. I have the theme song in my music favorites on my phone :)

IDOJ is a fun show. It doesn't take itself as seriously as sister show Bewitched. It's faster paced, which helps cover some of the weaker moments in the scripts. And Tony genuinely seems to enjoy watching Jeannie do her thing, unlike Darrin Stephens, who was always trying to stop his wife from doing magic.

I was watching one episode a few weeks back, and it started with a scene outside where Jeannie blinked up a telephone to make a call. After she was done with the call, Tony examined the telephone and chuckled, "It's not even connected". Just little things like this crack me up.

And yes, Jeannie's sister ROCKED. So much funnier than Samantha's lookalike - Serena - on Bewitched. She was completely shameless in her constant attempts to steal Tony away.

IDOJ is a fantastic show, and yes, it's very fun. Like others have said, it didn't try to be serious. It was comedy of the absurd and outrageous, with genuinely likeable characters and high energy. All in all, a thoroughly entertaining show.
