Fine whatever. He still makes me sick. My thoughts are with Dorthy Moxley and her family.

So maddening. I watched a clip from GMA and I almost puked when he said he prays for Martha everyday. Both those Skakel brothers had a hand in Martha's death.

Remember the sicko said he pleasured himself in a tree outside Martha's window? I still haven't been able to get a copy of Mark Fuhrman's book. I requested it through interlibrary loan, but haven't heard anything back yet. The [I]American Justice[I] episode on this was excellent.

Isn't that double jeopardy? Any law experts here to help on this? I can not imagine what this is doing to the Moxley family. And I always wondered how easy it is to break a golf club up into peaces? It just seems to me it would be hard for one boy , let alone two boys to break the thing up.

Disgusting. Just when the Moxley family finally gets some closure, the nightmare gets to start all over again.

I used to have to drive through a golf course to get to work. Trust me. One angry guy can break a golf club. The shafts of golf clubs are hollow. You can break a shaft just hitting a golf ball. (It isn't common, but it happens. And these were clubs 40 years ago, so they were more likely to break, especially if the Skakel kids played around with them a lot.)

This is true. I've actually seen someone do this with a driver before just teeing off. Woods are especially susceptible to snapping.

A six-iron, the kind of club Martha Moxley was killed with, is also relatively lightweight relative to the other clubs in a set. I could envision it snapping easily, especially if one's using it to bludgeon.

I'm definitely not a law expert, but I don't think double jeopardy applies in what's happening here.

I think that covers a situation where the accused is found not guilty at trial, so it's over. He goes free. The authorities are prevented from trying him again and again, hoping to get a conviction. That protects people from having to spend their lives in court, paying for lawyers, trying to defend themselves, while the state has unlimited resources to keep prosecuting until they finally get the verdict they want.

Skakel was found guilty, he disagrees, and he's the one asking for a new trial hoping to be found not guilty or get his sentence shortened or whatever it is he's looking for to get himself cleared in this murder.

Tommy Ziegler can't even get off death row, but this man who is clearly guilty gets a new trial.

Sigh.

Yeah, if a club is beat off something, the head can snap off fairly easily. The head could have hit a tree or other object that caused it to break. Personally, I have never broken a club (I have an extremely fast clubhead speed but I also am careful with my equipment..maybe a little too much. But, clubs are extremely expensive. I have never been a club thrower nor do I lose my temper). I have seen people break them though either by hitting a tree, slamming one on the ground (immature folks), etc.

In addition to being lowlife, degenerate-like folks, the Skakel boys also drew my ire for leaving their golf clubs outside (weren't they Toney Penna irons?). I bet Tommy Skakel is still writing that paper on Abraham Lincoln(an assignment which did not exist). I did see in recent photos his Greg Brady hair is gone :) During his interrogation, didn't he say he and Martha had sex...then recanted and said they were making out and his version of "Sex" was gentle petting?

Meanwhile, Michael scales a tree and chucks rocks at the girl's window. When she doesn't respond, he pleasures himself before climbing down.

I'm sorry to make light...this case is a true tragedy. Deepest sympathies for Martha's family.

It must be nice to have RFK Jr. actively campaigning for your freedom. Even with RFK Jr on his side it has taken over a decade to get a new trial. If there was even a little doubt about his guilt he would have never been in prison. I dont know the sentencing guidelines in that state but it would be nice if Skakel gets an even stiffer sentence if he is convicted again.

The golf club was snapped into three pieces. The part of it with the Skakel name on it was missing. I just wondered if one boy or if it takes two to break a golf club like that? Apparently Michael was known to hit squirrels so hard the head of the golf clubs would break off and then stabbed the squirrel with the broken club. This is the same way Martha was killed.

It wouldn't take much to break a club like that. I'm not proud of this, but as an 8-year old lad (long before I had an appreciation of golf--the greatest game ever invented), I broke the heads off several old irons in my parents' garage by hitting them off trees. I wanted the shafts to use as swords and then broke one o those into a smaller size (making three pieces) to be a dagger. I was pretending to be he-man or Lion-o or something. Of course, when my dad found out he spanked me for destroying property and lectured me as to why the clubs were unsafe in their current condition and three them away. But to answer the question, it would not be that difficult to break a club into three pieces.

According to this November 6th article, he's still in custody but has a chance at bail for the upcoming retrial:

Judge Thomas Bishop did lift a stay in the case, and if the state's appellate review board upholds the judge's ruling, Skakel's attorneys could apply for a bail hearing in 10 days.

Scary to think he could be out wandering the streets in a matter of days.

I suppose if he does get bail people will be aware that a possible killer could be living near by and be more careful.
