Corey Feldman Reveals History of Sexual Abuse in New Memoir

Corey Feldman has opened up about the sexual abuse he and fellow child star Corey Haim suffered early on in their careers in his upcoming memoir Coreyography.

In an excerpt obtained by Page Six, Feldman recalls a story Haim, then 14, shared about his experience on the set of Lucas in 1986, in which "an adult male convinced him that it was perfectly normal for older men and younger boys in the business to have sexual relations, that it was what all the guys do. So they walked off to a secluded area between two trailers ... and Haim allowed himself to be sodomized."

Haim then asked his new friend, "So, I guess we should play around like that, too?" Feldman said he was horrified by Haim's request, adding that Haim's alleged abuser now "walks around, one of the most successful people in the entertainment industry," according to the New York Daily News.





Like his late friend, Feldman says he was also abused by an older man, his assistant whom he identifies as Ron Crimson, a pseudonym. Crimson introduced the young actor to drugs, Feldman wrote. After taking an array of pills one night, Feldman felt Crimson's hand on his thigh and then Crimson had oral sex with the "petrified" and "revolted" actor.

"I don't know why I couldn't confront Ron, but I was consumed with guilt. I felt like the whole thing was my fault," Feldman wrote. "I desperately wanted him to stop, but I was afraid of losing my friend."





The relationship lasted for years, but Feldman said that for him and Haim, sexual abuse became the pair's twisted norm. At one point in the book, Feldman reflects on a picture from his 15th birthday party, in which he and Haim were surrounded by five pedophiles.

"Slowly, over a period of many years," he wrote, "I would begin to realize that many of the people I had surrounded myself with were monsters."



The pair escaped into drugs, an addiction that plagued Haim until he died of pneumonia in 2010. "Corey was raped at the age of 11," Feldman wrote, "and like many, many victims, drug use became an easy, if also tragic, way for him to escape the weight of that shame."

Now sober, Feldman, 42, continues to act and performs with his band Truth Movement, but he warns parents about putting their children into show business because the "number one problem in Hollywood was, and is, and always will be pedophilia."

I don't really know. I think it is true that there are people in the business who prey on the kids, but I'm not sure on how widespread it is.

Funny thing is, this isn't just a recent problem.

Even golden-age Hollywood had the same thing. There are allegations that moguls like Arthur Freed and Louis Mayer preyed on Shirley Temple and Judy Garland respectively. And then you have actors sleeping with underage actresses, like Ronald Reagan bedding 15-year-old Liz Taylor (John Derek probably also did the same thing when she was 12), and allegations that Kirk Douglas may have raped Natalie Wood.

And they all happened right here in California, where the age of consent, since 1913, is 18.

Late Canadian actor Corey Haim's mother insists she's "stunned and saddened" by a new memoir by Corey Feldman that alleges Haim was sexually molested when he was a teenager, according to Global News.

“If my son ever wanted to talk about any such things he would have done so himself, but he chose not to,” Judy Haim wrote in a statement she sent to Global News, and which was made public by the broadcaster's website Monday.

Coreyography: A Memoir, by Feldman, claims Haim told his former friend and co-star about a sexual assault in his youth.





Haim's mother dismissed Feldman's revelations in his book as "slanderous lies." But the Global News report indicates she did not deny her son was sexually molested.

“I haven’t read Feldman’s book and have no intention to,” Judy Haim added in her statement. “If Feldman’s publisher had contacted me, I doubt they would have published this book."





Feldman and Haim starred in several movies together, including 1987's The Lost Boys, 1988's License to Drive and 1989's Dream a Little Dream.

They also went on to star in "The Two Coreys", a reality series that aired from 2007 to 2008 on A&E.

Haim died March 10, 2010, of a pulmonary edema.

A recent interview with Elijah Wood has reignited the conversation on pedophilia in the entertainment business. The Lord of the Rings star later clarified first to The Hollywood Reporter and then on his personal Twitter account that his comments about "something major ... going on in Hollywood" were based not on his own experiences and observations but rather on news reports and the 2015 documentary film An Open Secret.

But another former child actor — Corey Feldman — was not so lucky. In past interviews, his A&E reality series "The Two Coreys" and his 2013 memoir, Coreyography, Feldman has detailed how he was preyed upon by men in the industry.

His own experiences were not as nightmarish as what befell the late Canadian actor Corey Haim. Haim was just 11 when, Feldman says, a man raped him on a movie set. (Haim died in 2010 at age 38 after years of drug addiction.)




Speaking now exclusively to The Hollywood Reporter, Feldman opens up about missing Haim, addresses the "dark side" of pal Michael Jackson that led to their estrangement, and warns of the "growing, not shrinking" dangers of internet-era child predators in Hollywood, a place "where adults have more direct and inappropriate connection with children than probably anywhere else in the world."









Your time as a child actor was a very damaging period and those kinds of traumas stick with you for your entire life. What is your state of mind now?

I'm a very balanced, very happy man. I enjoy my life, I'm very grateful for it and I'm grateful for the elements around my life. I have a great child and I have a great girlfriend, a nice house, a nice car and a good career.

But I had to go through a lot of therapy and group therapy and rehabilitation and all sorts of things to be put on this ground that I'm on now.







A lot of this played out on your show, "The Two Coreys". We know that Corey Haim obviously had a very tragic end and it sounds like he had a lot harder time with child predators as he became a star.

He had more direct abuse than I did. With me, there were some molestations and it did come from several hands, so to speak, but with Corey, his was direct rape, whereas mine was not actual rape.

And his also occurred when he was 11. My son is 11 now and I can't even begin to fathom the idea of something like that happening to him. It would destroy his whole being. As I look at my son, a sweet, innocent, 11-year-old boy and then try to put him in Corey Haim's shoes, I go, "Oh my God — well of course he was erratic and not well-behaved on sets and things like that."

What more could we expect of him really? Everybody deals with things differently.







You met going up for the same parts and quickly became best friends. So were the same men preying on both of you?

Let's just say it this way: I know every single person that interfered with his life and he knew every person that interfered with mine.







What level were these people? Were they studio heads, were they low-rent producers?

I'm not able to name names. People are frustrated, people are angry, they want to know how is this happening and they want answers and they turn to me and they say, "Why don't you be a man and stand up and name names and stop hiding and being a coward?" I have to deal with that, which is not pleasant, especially given the fact that I would love to name names. I'd love to be the first to do it.

But unfortunately California conveniently enough has a statute of limitations that prevents that from happening. Because if I were to go and mention anybody's name I would be the one that would be in legal problems and I'm the one that would be sued. We should be talking to the district attorneys and the lawmakers in California, especially because this is where the entertainment industry is and this is a place where adults have more direct and inappropriate connection with children than probably anywhere else in the world.







A judge ruled today that Bill Cosby will stand trial for sexual assault charges. Many of these women that have come out against him have been past the statute of limitations.

But they're not all past the statute of limitations, because other states don't have the same statutes. So supposed crimes took place in various states over great lengths of time. Some would still fall within the statute, obviously, that's how they are able to start charges against him.







But there are others that are not; they're just telling their truth.

If somebody came forward with a suit against one of these people [who molested me], I would certainly be more than happy to back them up. But that hasn't happened.







Are these people still working in Hollywood?

One of them is. He's still prominently in the business today.







And have you ever confronted him yourself or run into him?

We've run into each other many times but no, I've never confronted him.







Do you think this problem — adult males in the entertainment industry preying on young boys behind closed doors — still persists to the same extent in the current age of Instagram and Twitter, with everything being so much more open?

Oh, absolutely. It's more now than ever because nowadays you can use the internet to create fake profiles and fake accounts. They reach out to little kids on Twitter, they reach out to little kids on Facebook, and they say, "I'm a big producer and I can help you." With social media we have more access than ever to everybody. It's a growing problem, not a shrinking problem.







An Open Secret details the men behind Digital Entertainment Network, who threw huge Hollywood parties where boys were being raped at gunpoint and being forced to do cocaine. Was that your experience — that they hunted in packs, so to speak?

Yes. I believe that Haim's rapist was probably connected to something bigger and that is probably how he has remained protected for all these years. This person uses intimidation and threats as a way to keep people quiet. And all these men were all friends. Ask anybody in our group of kids at that time.

They were passing us back and forth to each other. Alison Arngrim from "Little House on the Prairie" said , "Everybody knew that the two Coreys were just being passed around." Like it was something people joked about on studio lots. We're not talking about huge executives and directors that I am aware of that were involved in this. The people that I knew doing it were publicists, they were photographers for teen magazines, things like that.







What did they do?

They would throw these parties where you'd walk in and it would be mostly kids and there would be a handful of adult men. They would also be at the film awards and children's charity functions.







What were the ages of the kids at these parties?

The range was usually 10 to 16. The lure for kids is that they work in adult world. All of their friends become adults and they very rarely get to interact with other kids, especially because they don't go to school. So unless you happen to be on a movie like Goonies, where there are seven kids, for the most part you find yourself being the only kid on the set. You don't get that interaction, which you crave so badly.

So when somebody approaches you and says, "Hey, this is a Hollywood party where you get to hang out with the powerful people in Hollywood," well that sounds like a great opportunity.







Was there alcohol at these parties?

I'm sure there was but I didn't drink alcohol so I don't think I was looking for that.







Boys and girls?

Boys and girls, yes.







And they're being molested or raped at these parties?

I didn't say that but I'm saying that's —







You’re saying they're groomed?

Exactly, that's the networking and that's when you become pals with them and you get their phone numbers and you get their mom's phone numbers and the next thing you know they talk to the moms and say, "Hey, I want to take Corey out to an event, this would be great for him, let me pick him up and take him." And they turn that power over right away to the publicist or the photographers.







Elijah Wood said that his mother wouldn't let him go to parties and that's why he avoided these experiences.

Exactly.







But in your case you didn't have that protection.

Part of the time I was living with my mom and she was letting me go to the parties. And then the other part of the time was with my dad and those people were actually coming over to my apartment. There's a picture in my book at my 15th birthday party. My father had the party at his office, which was a management company directly across the street from his apartment. One of the guys, the main guy who molested me, he actually was an employee of my father's.

My father hired this man and this man coaxed me into trying every single drug that I ever tried. He says, "Hey I'm going to be your best friend, I'll take you to Disneyland, I'll take you to the Comedy Store." He was my assistant, my driver, my chaperone, and also basically my guardian.







Did you tell your father what was going on?

As a child you don't really do that. My parents were both very abusive and very selfish and were more interested in what was happening with themselves than what was happening with my life. My manager father sued me for $40,000 when I tried to get emancipated, his reasoning being that he was taking time away from his business to be on the set with me.







Let me ask you about Michael Jackson. These kinds of allegations followed him to his death. You guys were very close. Where do you stand on the matter now?

It's in my book. Nothing is going to change on that because there is no new evidence. The man is gone. Let him rest in peace.







For anyone who has not read your book, please restate what you experienced with Michael Jackson?

I would prefer they read my book. But he was a friend and our relationship did not end well. We had a falling out and that was due to the fact that there was definitely a dark side to him. But that dark side in no way connected itself to pedophilia by my estimation.







He was never inappropriate with you and you don't think he was inappropriate with other boys?

Not to my knowledge.







Do you think about Corey Haim often?

Every day. He was my best friend. I miss the chemistry, I miss having my best friend. He was the only person that could make me laugh unstoppably. He had a charisma about him and a charm and a sense of humor that was unparalleled. If I would set up a joke, he would finish it; if he would set up a joke, I would finish it. That's something that you don't find really twice in a lifetime.

Then all the sudden that person is just gone. It's just very, a very hard thing to accept, especially when I know he was doing so well. That's the thing that's so troubling — is that he was finally getting it together. Unfortunately his body just couldn't hold up anymore.







You worked with director Joel Schumacher on [I]The Lost Boys. Did you enjoy it?

Joel was great. I mean, he was a high-tempered man so he did tend to raise his voice a lot, which was a bit startling for me because I was around a lot of violence and anger and things like that as a kid. But he was never violent with us or anything like that. He was a funny guy and a good guy and a great, great filmmaker. So I enjoyed the experience very much.







Do you feel he protected his actors?

I think he would have, yes. If he had known there was something going on I'm sure he would have stepped in and done whatever he could.







Was Goonies producer Steven Spielberg a father- or mentor-figure to you when you were young?

We were never that close, so I don't know that I would see him as a father figure but he was certainly a legend and a great man and he was always very kind to me and we always had a great rapport. Even recently when I've seen him, he is still the same guy. He hasn’t changed. I love Steven, great guy.







What are you working on now?

My new single just came out. It's called "Go 4 It" and it's with Snoop Dogg and people are saying it's the song of the summer and it's the greatest thing they've ever heard. The fans are super excited. The actual album comes out on June 22. It's called Angelic 2 the Core.

In its second season, The Two Coreys essentially goes from being a goofy, quirky, tongue-in-cheek sitcom to a grim psychodrama. It transforms from Malcolm In The Middle to Breaking Bad. And it makes that massive leap rather abruptly. One season The Two Coreys is the television equivalent of a 1980s nostalgia cruise. The next season it’s more like a John Cassavetes drama.

The first episode of The Two Coreys’ second season features an exchange between the two leads so dark, fascinating, and revealing that it’s never really followed up on, because to do so would push this show into murky depths it would be unable to handle. In a fit of rage, Haim lashes out at Feldman for remaining friends with the man who raped Haim when he was 14 years old. Feldman doesn’t refute Haim’s accusation, but goes on to say that he himself was raped and molested when he was the same age as Haim and that he remained friends with the person who raped and molested him.

It’s an astonishing revelation. Why would anyone remain friends with someone who molested them? How could you stay friends with someone who raped your best friend? How could any relationship survive something like that? Yet as Feldman’s surprisingly heart-wrenching, if regrettably titled, memoir, Coreyography (which I plan to cover for an upcoming entry in Silly Little Show-Biz Book Club), makes clear, the emotions related to child molestation are complicated and tricky. There’s rage and anger and betrayal, of course, but also sometimes confusion and guilt and shame and dependency and affection and obligation. This is particularly true when drugs enter the mix, as was clearly the case with Feldman and Haim.

In the second season, we learn exactly what the first season’s opening narration glibly calls “bad headlines” and “bad habits.” Haim and Feldman developed terrible cocaine addictions to help numb the pain from having been raped and molested throughout their years of peak popularity, not just by sketchy parasites at the fringes of show-business but also by at least one major Hollywood power-broker Feldman holds responsible for many of Haim’s problems, but that he refuses to name for legal reasons.

From that moment on, everything is different. Once child rape, molestation, childhood trauma, suicidal depression (Haim was a cutter, among his other issues), and cocaine enter the frame, it becomes impossible to ignore them and to go back to the kinds of silly plotlines the first season favored. When the second season of The Two Coreys returns to prefabricated plotlines like hopeless romantic Feldman planning an elaborate Valentine’s Day surprise for his wife, it feels like a cop-out and a violation of the queasy voyeurism that makes the season so morbidly compelling.

Corey Feldman To Talk about Child Sex Abuse in Live Today Interview

Corey Feldman, who recently declared he’s preparing to identify child sex abusers in Hollywood, is going to sit down for a live interview on NBC’s Today show.

The actor will chat with Matt Lauer on Monday, Oct. 30. In an unusual move, the actor will then have a second sit-down, this time with Megyn Kelly.

The contents of the interview are said to be about “sexual abuse in Hollywood and his experiences as a child.”





In a YouTube video posted Wednesday that has since been viewed more than 700,000 times, Feldman declared he’s ready to identify at least six alleged abusers — including one who remains in power today.

Feldman has previously called pedophilia Hollywood’s “big secret” and has said that he was molested. He’s also said that he fears revealing the abusers will put his life in jeopardy.





Feldman has stated he would like to make a film about child sex abuse in Hollywood and is trying to raise $10 million for the project in online fundraising.

It’s unclear if Feldman is actually going to name names on Today or just talk in general terms about his experiences.

Corey Feldman Defends Not Naming Alleged Hollywood Pedophiles

In two contentious interviews on NBC's Today, Corey Feldman defended his decision to wait to publicly release the names of people he claims are pedophiles still working in Hollywood.

Feldman last week launched a $10 million fundraising campaign for a movie that he said would be the "most honest and true depiction of child abuse."





On Monday, he sat down with Matt Lauer and Megyn Kelly to talk about the project and why he's waiting to expose the people behind his longstanding claims that he and other child actors, including late friend Corey Haim, were molested by older men in the industry.

Feldman clarified to Lauer that his planned project isn't a documentary but a "feature film," saying that's why he needs the $10 million budget, to pay for actors, scripts, special effects, a theatrical release and hiring attorneys to protect him when the film's released.

"It will be a very true story," Feldman said. "Everybody that affected my life, I'm going to give the perspective that I can give, what I viewed, what I experienced from a firsthand account."





It's this lack of security that Feldman says is what's kept him from revealing the names of the men he believes to be pedophiles still working in Hollywood today.

"I need a team of lawyers and I need a team of security to be around me at all time to keep me safe so I can get this message done," Feldman said. "I vow that I will release every single name that I have knowledge of, period. And nobody's going to stop this."





In sit-downs with Lauer and Kelly, Feldman declined to name names, even despite Kelly's repeated insistence that he expose people who are still endangering children.

Feldman repeatedly said that he'd gone to the police with that information, and with the fact that he's received death threats recently. He said he offered a list of people he believed to be pedophiles to the Santa Barbara police department in 1993, but was told that wasn't its jurisdiction.





He also claims that others can come forward.

"There are thousands of people in Hollywood who have this same information," he told Lauer. "Why is it all on me? Why is it if I don't release the names in the next two months, six months or a year, I'm a bad guy? I'm a victim here. I'm the one who's been abused. I'm the one who's trying to come forward and do something about it.

There are thousands of people out there who have this information, Matt. Any one of those child actors who went to the teenage soda pop clubs with me when I was a kid know who those people are and who ran it."





Later, sitting down with Megyn Kelly during her 9 o'clock eponymous portion of the NBC morning show, Feldman opened up about the recent brush with death he experienced.

"Someone tried to kill me the other day. I have been arrested. This is no joke. I am fearing for my life," Feldman said. "I had two trucks come speeding towards me on the highway at the same time. I was with six other people. I have many witnesses to this. I'm not saying they were trying to kill Corey Feldman but they were definitely trying to kill a group of people walking across the street."

And he reiterated that he needs to have "legal protection" before he can name the names of the men who he claimed abused him, adding that he can only speak about his personal experience.

Corey Feldman has spoken out about the alleged Hollywood "pedophilia ring" that he has claimed exists for decades.

The actor, who claims he was sexually assaulted when he was a teenager, named John Grissom, an actor who appeared in 1988's License to Drive and 1989's Dream a Little Dream with Feldman and fellow child actor Corey Haim, and accused the older actor of sexually molesting him while speaking on "The Dr. Oz Show" on Thursday.

Feldman called the LAPD to file a report against Grissom on Oz's show. He also revealed that Grissom has pictures on his Myspace and Facebook pages of himself posing with Feldman and Haim.





Dr. Oz stated that Feldman also disclosed other names to him off-air. It was also revealed that Grissom has a previous arrest record which includes a 2001 arrest for child molestation charges. He was found guilty of the crime in 2003 and served time. He is also in violation of a law that requires sex offenders to register under what's called "Megan's Law."

Feldman had previously spoken about pedophiles in Hollywood earlier this week on NBC's Today with hosts Matt Lauer and Megyn Kelly, though he did not name names. Feldman last week launched a $10 million fundraising campaign for a "feature film" on the subject.

The actor said on Monday, "I vow that I will release every single name that I have knowledge of, period. And nobody's going to stop this."

Corey Feldman Accuses Charlie Sheen of Sexually Abusing Corey Haim in (My) Truth Documentary

Corey Feldman named names. In his new documentary (My) Truth: The Rape of Two Coreys, which debuted on Monday night at a screening in Los Angeles, Feldman listed the men who he says sexually assaulted him and his friend Corey Haim when they were child stars.

Among the names, Feldman alleged Haim had said actor Charlie Sheen raped him while making the 1986 Steven Spielberg film Lucas. Sheen in the past has categorically denied ever engaging in improper behavior with Haim. EW has reached out to him for comment in response to the documentary's allegations.




"This wasn’t like a one time thing he said in passing. It wasn't like 'Oh, by the way, this happened.' He went into great detail," a crying Feldman said in the documentary about Haim, who died from pneumonia in 2010. "He told me, 'Charlie bent me over in between two trailers and put Crisco oil on my butt and raped me in broad daylight. Anybody could have walked by, anybody could have seen it.'"

Haim was 13 and Sheen was 19 when they worked together on Lucas.




Several other talking heads in the documentary also claimed either Haim directly told them he had been abused by Sheen as a child or they had heard word of it from others years later.

"He shared with me that on the set of Lucas that he was raped as a little boy," Feldman's ex-wife Susannah Sprague, said in the documentary, which was produced by Feldman. "He told me that it was his costar and he told me that it was Charlie Sheen that did it," she alleged.
