I used to love Married with Children during its original run, but haven't seen it in ages. It has the wiseass teens, but it's so over the top, it gets a pass.

Believe me I tried watching it and couldn't sit through 20 mins of it. It's dry, cheesy, not funny, not relatable, and meant for the 2 to 13 audience. I think it's one of the most Sugary pieces of crap to ever appear on the telly. It's also so stupid how they all feel the need to hug after each scene. Also when they try to make a serious situation out of nothing like Stephanie Lost Her Teddy Bear or something- wow! big deal! What surprises me it that it lasted for 8 seasons when IT WASN'T a big ratings hit. When it did peak it spent 2 seasons at the bottom of the top 10. Some fans of the show act as if i were the biggest thing ever created. It was never near as big as shows like The Cosby Show and Roseannne that ran during the same time period.

Sorry if I come off as too passsionate for my hatred of Full House! I don't have a problem with those who love the show.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not comparing Cheers to Shakespeare directly, but in this "desert of banality" that is TV, shows like Cheers, Frasier and Seinfeld are like an oasis. They provide us with much needed intelligent humor.

You named some great shows there! IMO, Cheers isnt a great show. I think it is so unfunny and dry, by thats my opinion.

I think you'll like it a lot better when you're old enough to understand the show, and you'll realize that Full House isn't what it's cracked up to be.

Maybe you have a point - I started liking Cheers when I first saw it - I must have been 6 years old. I think it's just a matter of taste rather than age. But....you still have to admit that there's something special about Cheers for it to have had such an amazing critical reception from the beginning.

I virtually HATE most '90s shows, all reality shows (THAT INCLUDES AMERICAN IDOL!) and present day shows w/ exceptions for:
The Simpsons, Family Guy, King of the Hill, In Living Color, The Wayans Brothers, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Married With Children, Nash Bridges, and Martin.

I especially hate The Nanny, Full House, (Fran is ANNOYING AS HELL JUST LIKE ROSEANNE! AND I'LL SHOOT THE WHOLE CAST OF FULL HOUSE EXCEPT FOR LORI LOUGHLIN

Well, I guess that I can't blame the seventies_sitcom guy on this post, but some of those shows he mentioned I happen to watch sometimes, but I totally agree w/ some of the ones he mentioned.

I already said I hated the following shows:

Basically any sitcom that's set in a military-like atmosphere, except for M*A*S*H (sometimes). So I'm talking about McHale's Navy and Hogan's Heroes (Richard Dawson is the only saving grace for Hogan's Heroes)

Full House (dumb, stupid, lame, ********, one of ABC's biggest ****com syndrome or what I call ABC's 90's S***ty Sitcom Syndrome or the Triple S)

Charles in Charge (Like Full House, I've wasted my youth watching this dreck! and I can't stand the theme that much, either!)

The majority of the sitcoms ABC aired from fall 1993 onward or what I call any sitcom that aired on ABC from 1993-present the S***ty Sticom Syndrome/Triple S, with the exception of Boy Meets World

One of the best TV shows out there has been Little House,and The
Cosby Show. These shows teach good values to kids and how important
faith and family unity are! ;)
I think TV shows that transmit negative family values, too much sex
and too much violence should not be broadcasted. In this way,children
won't learn bad things from TV at an early age.

Seinfeld, Ill never understand HOW this super boring show got so popular; its a total reflection of its whiny star, whos nightclub act was almost as bad

one thing I notice reading this thread is. "______________ sucks" followed by "how can anyone hate _______?". I just find that kinda funny.

I would just find it hypocritical to post how much I hate American Idol and Full House, then turn around and say "how can anybody hate Buffy, Roseanne, Sex And The City or Seinfeld?".

I agree that the reality shows are really silly.

Who's over here hating on the Dick Van Dyke Show? Dick Van Dyke is pure genius, man! Watch the opening credits and you'll see how genius he really is. In fact, watch the show good enough to know how much genius Dick Van Dyke really is.

At least this show is far better than most of the reality crap on TV.

I agree with you, megamanj2004. The Dick Van Dyke show is absolutely wonderful. I love that show. Dick Van Dyke is wonderful actor. I also agree with that the Dick Van Dyke show is far better than any shows that are on today.

how can anybody hate friends. matt perry is one of the funniest people on tv (or was rather), and of course, ms. anniston, one of the hottest women in the world.

full house is awful, sex in the city is another absolutely terrible show. and how about any of the tlc shows that have to do with pregancy or fashion or any of that garbage.
