View Full Version : Has anyone ordered a pizza online for delivery?
TVFactFan 10-20-2013, 11:48 AM I thought about doing this today but it's something about ordering food on the internet for delivery that doesn't feel right lol
I feel that I will be waiting and waiting and no food will show up and then call the store and they will say their internet was down and that I can order over the phone.
What has your ordering online experience been like?
Zoneboy 10-20-2013, 01:38 PM I've ordered online from Papa John's and Pizza Hut several times. I like it because you can take your time and build your pizzas to your exact specifications which is good if you're getting several with various toppings. If I wanted just a cheese or pepperoni pizza then I would call it in. I've also found that with online ordering I've had no pizzas delivered that were not what I ordered and I've had several that were wrong when ordered by phone. Some places including PJ's and PH will offer online-only promotions which can save you money so that's another good thing.

My fear is that the delivery will be delayed since they are not actually talking to you on the phone. Like I feel that they will take their time since the person ordered online and feel like they don;t need to rush lol

After you place the order you'll get a confirmation E-mail with the expected arrival time and they've never been late for me. The only thing I don't like about it is that with Papa John's you can't go back and change anything once the order has been placed or at least that's what the local store told me.

I had no idea that papa john's had a delivery fee
robyrob 10-20-2013, 05:42 PM we've ordered pizza over the internet from Pizza Hut, Casano's, and Donato's and never had any problems.
half the time we start out going to the website just to look at the menu and end up going from there to ordering.
treky 10-20-2013, 05:57 PM we've order online from Pizza Hut a few times with no problem, the pizza arrived on time and exactly as ordered.
Tap Dancer 10-20-2013, 07:17 PM I'd be afraid the Internet would be down over there... Or what if they don't check the system regularly? I'd hate to sit around waiting and hoping my food would show up. I'll stick with the phone!

Me too I don't want to use the internet for ordering food. I want to talk to a live person lol
Tap Dancer 10-20-2013, 07:44 PM If I ordered online, I'd feel like I needed to call to make sure they got my order. That kinda defeats the purpose. I don't think my OCD could stand it; I'd be pacing and staring out the window for 30-45 minutes. LOL
I get mad when I'm hungry.

I know which is why I decided not to even bother with it because I am big on confirmation and would not want to be wondering........"is it coming???
shotzette 10-20-2013, 07:55 PM I've never had a problem with Papa Johns, Angelicos, or Donatos when I've ordered online. I've had several issues when i've called and ordered on the phone. I prefer to use the computer since it limits human error.

Unless you get some dope who can't read. I don't mind talking loud and slow if I have to. LOL
treky 10-20-2013, 08:57 PM well, like I said; we've NEVER had any problem with ordering online. Not just pizza, but other foods as well.
Elvis Fonzie Dean 10-20-2013, 10:01 PM It appears you already made up your mind.

I may try at some point just not on football sunday
Fleet 10-21-2013, 06:30 PM I have used online ordering for Ameci, Pizza Hut and Round Table.
All have worked well; no problems. Always receive a conformation email.
I was going to order from Pizza Hut online about two weeks ago but was not able to; a message said to call it in. Probably a problem with their computer or connection.
RoryGilmore 10-21-2013, 06:41 PM My husband loves papa johns and we order online. They send you confirmation with a time as said above if you mess up you can call the store and verbally correct it as long as the change doesn't affect the price. IE Ive clicked pay with cash instead of card before.
I've only had a pizza late once in 3 years and we called the store and got it for free
The good thing about online is they have the Papa's rewards that add up to a free pizza and this is online only as well as online only discounts also mentioned above.
The world its becoming technology dependent so we figured that we might as well jump on board now before these places eliminate menial human jobs altogether
treky 10-21-2013, 08:20 PM there's a Dominos near us but for some reason their website doesn't recognize our address and won't let us order from them online.
JamesG 10-21-2013, 09:09 PM I haven't ordered online and still call everyone up.
I live in NYC w/ (arguably) the best pizza, so I don't order from those fast food pizza joints much.
MRPITT 10-22-2013, 02:20 PM I have ordered online several times at various places and have never had a problem it is much more reliable then calling in And as for worrying they never got your order that's not a problem because they update your order throughout the process they will tell you when the pizza is put into the oven and when the driver leaves the store.

Where do you order from that does this?
treky 10-22-2013, 08:02 PM Where do you order from that does this?
ya, because I've never had them do that. I get an e-mail confirmation of the order so I know they got it, but that's all.
TraceyDeSanta 10-27-2013, 01:37 PM I've ordered from both Papa Ginos and Papa Johns. Love it it's so convenient! :D No problems here. :p
