I haven't posted in about 2 years...good to be back. :)
I was thinking about alot of the solved cases that get overlooked on here, like Arthur Karopoulos from San Francisco, who was looking for his son Nicholas after his ex-girlfriend (Levia Molinary) kidnapped him into the whacko religious cult she joined. I did some searching and apparently Arthur died in September 2005. :( There's no obituary or cause...but its a pretty unique name, so I figure it's him. Particularly being from the Bay Area.
I wonder what happened to Levia after 1992 (when both the original segment and update aired) and if she ever re-established contact with Arthur later on, or with Nick ever again now that he's 29 or 30? This segment is literally the only information or trace of her whatsoever online. I wonder what she's been up to ever since then.
This was one of the very first cases I saw as a kid, and the fact it was from SF made me kinda feel even more of a connection to it. So it's a bit sad for me to realize the guy passed away several years ago. His dedication to finding Nick was heartwarming, and it was pretty bad@ss how he climbed into the apartment from the pipes! He just seemed like a really cool and excellent dad.
p.s. Didn't he kinda look like Ross on Friends? lol.

Glad to have you back.
That's sad if Arthur died. I too liked him and distinctly remember mentioning it somewhere on here. I don't think he looked like Ross from Friends, which is a good thing because I hate that guy.
I certainly hope they didn't have anything to do with Levia after the fact. She is a religious nutcase who clearly has mental issues and should seek professional help. She abducted Nick and had the gall to blame the whole thing on Arthur, and forced her son to live a transient, nearly destitute life. If she had it her way, her son would have never seen his father again. She's a piece of garbage. I don't know what happened to her, but hopefully she found her way back to the gutter.
I don't know if unsolved cases get discussed more than solved ones, but I suppose it's possible, perhaps due to nothing new being added to solved cases. There are so many segments of UM that it's nearly impossible to retain all of the info in one's mind, so that's probably why the most memorable end up being discussed so much. I think we're probably all in that camp.

Thanks! :) I definitely plan to stick around long term this time.
Yeah, the age and location matches up, so I figure that it sadly must be him. I definitely hope Arthur's later years with Nick, his new wife and younger son were good ones. He seemed like a great man and deserved it.
I saw Nick on FB, but I pretty much steer clear of contacting anyone (especially from a solved case), since they're really average joes who were on TV around 20 years ago and they might not like random strangers messaging them, lol. But I sure wonder how everything progressed from 92-05, and I agree with you in hoping they never gave Levia the time of day again. Ugh, makes you wonder what the guy ever saw in her in the first place! I'm surprised she didn't get way more jail time for what she did. That's also the kind of brainwashing the Maples did to the Baskin kids.
I wonder if that lifestyle she forced him to live for a couple years had any lasting affect on him until he was reunited with Arthur again? That letter she wrote him was really brazen and heartlessly cold, especially for a guy she supposedly loved and was in a relationship with.

Arthur Karopoulos....wow....that's a name I haven't heard in a long time.
Welcome back. :)

Another one I think about alot, is Christine Reinhart & Craig Williamson.
Craig was assaulted in 1993 on a business trip to Colorado, and Christine had gone (unsuccessfully) searching for him and talking to people who'd seen him after he was wandering around with amnesia. He was located in '95 and UM did an unusually heartbreaking update, where Craig didn't remember her or any of their previous experiences together, so they mutually agreed to divorce and go their own ways.
Does anyone know what either of them have been up to ever since then? I wonder if Craig's memories ever returned. He was (as of 1995) living in Key West FL. For Christine's sake I hope she recovered and moved on as best as she could. Her dedication to tracking him down was amazing.

Oldschooler, in the threads on Craig Williamson, most have come to the conclusion that the amnesia story was a cover and that he just wanted out of his marriage. Stuff like beard clippings (an attempt to mask identity) were found at the scene.

I think Nicholas is on Facebook. He has a Patriots banner as his group cover photo.
