Frasier did this a lot. A few examples are: My Coffee With Niles-My Dinner with Andre A Midwinter Nights Dream-A Midsummer Nights Dream Summer Reign 10-11-2013, 09:33 PM Scrubs did a spoof of The Princess Bride. NewsRadio did a spoof of Titanic. Futurama did as well. The Simpsons and Family Guy have both spoofed tons of movies. treky 10-13-2013, 12:31 AM I can't think of any TV shows that ripped off or parodied movies but I know a lot of episodes of shows had titles that came from movies. Cool to know- as fan of both James Bond and "Get Smart", I wouldn't mind seeing that one sometime.:) Vahan 10-14-2013, 11:48 AM The 13-episode 8th and final season of Alvin and the Chipmunks, called The Chipmunks Go to the Movies, was all movie spoofs. MacLeaper 10-14-2013, 11:52 AM I LOVE "Alvin & The Chipmunks Go to the Movies".:) The Muppets also did a special in 1981 called "The Muppets Go to the Movies" wherein they spoofed a number of movies. They also did this sometimes on "The Muppet Show", when they had a star famous for a movie on the show. (The Mark Hamill episode particularly comes to mind where Mark Hamill was there both as himself and in character as Luke Skywalker, along with C-3PO, R2-D2 and Chewbacca the Wookie!) treky 10-14-2013, 11:37 PM Well, that was a natural for "Get Smart" since the whole show started as a parody of spy films like the James Bond series to begin with. Cool to know- as fan of both James Bond and "Get Smart", I wouldn't mind seeing that one sometime.:) I was on ME-TV over the weekend. Torgo 10-15-2013, 09:31 AM The Red Dwarf special 'Back To Earth' pays heavy homage to Bladerunner, and much of its plot mirrors it. Psych did a parody of Friday The 13th, the whole episode was set at summer camp, the episode also pays homage to April Fool's Day. The series pays homages to many movies from Rosemary's Baby to Indiana Jones, and many of the episode titles are a play on film titles. Holliston pays homage to many horror films, one episode is a parody of The Blair Witch Project, and their animated episode is a parody of The Blob. Another is a parody of the Ring films. Neutronman67 10-16-2013, 11:06 AM Boy Meets World did a spoof of the Scream Movies from season 5 An Than their was shawn, shawn and cory and topanga have to try to solve a mystery at john adams without getting into danger good episode i must say Boy Meets World their was a episode from season 6 where cory, shawn and eric pretend they are doing a God-father scene from the 1970's movie The God Father. Boy Meets World did an episode from season 5 where Cory dreams he is from war in the 1940's this is a parody from Saving Private Ryan with Tom Hanks The Wonder Years episode Carnal Knowledge from season 5 this is suppose to be a parody episode where kevin and his friends want to sneak into an R-RATED film that starred Jack Nicholson. Family Matters from season 5 episode was called Scenes From The Mall this was a parody ripp-off from that 1995 movie Mallrats. The Fresh Prince of Bel Air their was an episode where carlton dressed up as Macaulay Culkin for halloween from that 1990 film Home Alone will smith make up some funny wise cracks for carlton in that episode Smart Guy season 3 Diary of A Mad School Girl is suppose to be a parody ripp-off of that 1980 classic film Friday The 13TH Those are some off the top of my head i can think of if anybody else no anymore TV Show episodes that were based off movies please post them on here MacLeaper 10-16-2013, 04:03 PM I was on ME-TV over the weekend. Really? What show were you on? That's awesome!;)  treky 10-16-2013, 11:16 PM Really? What show were you on? That's awesome!;)  I made a mistake when I typed that, sorry. I meant to say IT was on ME-TV over the weekend. treky 10-16-2013, 11:22 PM I the 70s there was a short-lived show on NBC called QUARK. I haven't seen the show since then, but I think that the first episode was a parody of STAR WARS. I THINK; it's been almost 40 years since I saw it so I might be wrong. EmoJoe 10-17-2013, 01:34 AM Community has plenty of these! *Contemporary American Poultry (mobster movie parody, mostly Goodfellas with some Godfather. it's about the group running a chicken fingers ring) *Modern Warfare (epic campus-wide paintball battle. it's a broad take on action movies) *Basic Rocket Science (pretty direct Apollo 13 homage revolving around the study group getting trapped in a space simulator) *Epidemiology (zombie movie parody with the entire cast literally turning into zombies because of some sketchy army surplus taco meat served at the school Halloween party. but it's basically erased from canon at the end of the episode) *Critical Film Studies (Abed stages a My Dinner with Andre-esque conversation with Jeff) *A Fistful of Paintballs/For a Few Paintballs More (paintball again, but with a spaghetti western motif, and a bit of Star Wars) *Documentary Filmmaking: Redux (the episode centers around the Dean trying to make the perfect commercial and it's all a loose take on Apocalypse Now) *Pillows and Blankets (Ken Burns-style documentary about a pillow/blanket fight between Troy and Abed) *The First Chang Dynasty (the study group tries to overthrow Chang in an Ocean's Eleven-style heist) Some others: The Simpsons - Rosebud (the story of Mr. Burns trying to get his childhood teddy bear back - all of it's a pretty straight homage of Citizen Kane) The Simpsons - Sherry Bobbins episode (the title is super long. but basically it's just a very straight take on Mary Poppins). Also, pretty much every Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episode had some sort of horror movie homage, perhaps the most notable being their Shining parody in Treehouse of Horror V (no beer and no TV makes Homer...something something) 30 Rock - Sandwich Day (sub-plot features Tracy trying to write a porn video game and it's a take on Amadeus) 30 Rock - The Tuxedo Begins (Dark Knight homage with Jack as Batman and Liz as the Joker after Liz starts wearing an old lady costume to scare people on the subway) Bob's Burgers - The Deepening (a mechanical shark terrorizes the town; Jaws homage) Bob's Burgers - OT the Outside Toilet (Gene finds a toilet in the woods and falls in love with it...it's all an elaborate ET homage) MacLeaper 10-17-2013, 05:46 PM Quote: Originally Posted by MacLeaper Really?
