The family is often involved in hectic and dramatic situations. The show premiered in syndication on June 21, 2006, and has been broadcast exclusively on TBS since June 6, 2007.

It was never that great of a sitcom.

But it was truly unwatchable when the focus shifted away from the Payne's household.

I liked the show a lot and still watch in reruns but I don't really like the episodes that focus on the barbershop and not the paynes.

Most of Tyler Perry's works when you get down to it, aren't so much comedies but really overwrought preachy melodramas about some spouse cheating on their wife or husband.
