"Girl Meets World" Nixes Older Brother Character

"Girl Meets World" has decided to scrap the character of Elliot, the oldest son of Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) and big brother to the titular Girl, Riley (Rowan Blanchard).

Teo Halm, the 13-year-old actor who was set to play Elliot, shared the news on Twitter Saturday. "So guys, Disney decided that it wouldn't work to have an older brother on the show; I won't be on Girl Meets World. Thank you to everyone," he wrote.



Fishel seems to be settling into her role as a mother nicely, as she responded: "Teo, you are an incredible talent and I adore you. You may still call me 'mom.'"

Halm wrote back: "That means so much to me. Thanks 'mom.'"

Riley will still have one sibling on the show — a younger brother named Louis (August Maturo).

If I had to wager a guess as to why it's probably because the character was too similar to Eric.

That is what I am hoping as well. The couple has been married for 13 years if we go by the correct timeline. They already have a 12 year old daughter so we will see how this turns out. I do feel bad for the actor though. No one wants to be out of the job. :(

show wise it would have worked much better - the little kid is BORING and adds nothing to the show. oh well.

kiddie-com? not sure what that is but this is a classic spin-off....this is a spin off of many current parents childhoods. who wouldn't want this show to be as good as it can be?


the younger kid adds nothing to the show - in fact it takes away from Topanga's role. i guess the time line does make more sense now though. too late to correct things now.

Its Disney, need I say more?

I'll give it at least until the girls on the show turn 16-17 because Disney will no longer contain their growing hormones by then.

I havent watched too much of Girl Meets World but the little brother isnt really needed. In fact, he was hardly in one or two of the episodes that I watched. And the little brother on the show, I think his name is Auggie, he needs to get a haircut.

Nah. That kid's hair is his trademark. He looks so cute with it.
