I know the first time they showed him was in the episode CHIEF SURGEON WHO? but I read somewhere that he was originally supposed to make a cameo appearance in the pilot but he looked so funny in a dress they decided to make him a regular. But he's not in the pilot, so was his scene written but never filmed, filmed but then cut from the episode or what?

Klinger was a one off character, but Farr was so good in it, they brought him back and made him a regular member of the cast.
William Christopher was also a recurring guest star in the beginning, his name would appear in the credits at the end of the show for about the first two seasons.

Great episode, I think they may have just about overdid the drag queen bit with Klinger, though, in my opinion.
How is Jamie Farr right now, health wise, anyone know?
"Jamie Farr falls ill on stage" a few weeks ago was the last I heard... with Farr at age 80 now that is troubling.
