Taxi is an American sitcom that originally aired from 1978 to 1982 on ABC, and from 1982 to 1983 on NBC. The series, which won 18 Emmy Awards including three for Outstanding Comedy Series, focuses on the everyday lives of a handful of New York City taxi drivers and their abusive dispatcher. The series was produced by the John Charles Walters Company in association with Paramount Television.

It never boned. All five seasons were great.

I know people tend to say the show became "The Latka and Simka" show towards the end but I don't think it did. They had about four episodes about them (one was a two-parter) and besides that, Andy Kaufman was only in 11 episodes that final year. So how did it become "The Latka and Simka Show"?

It was great all the way through. I never really appreciated the sitcom until I saw it in syndication. Much funnier than I remember.
