What was Steven Bochco thinking?

I never saw the show only what programs like TV's Greatest Blunders talk about it, but I guess it was a show that looked like a drama but then all of a sudden cops and thugs would break into songs every episode.

I remember when "Cop Rock" first aired- that was awesome! Hey- people can knock it as an incredibly bad and weird idea- but at least you gotta admit that it's quite different!:) :cool:
So I give it points for being different and yeah- kinda weird. But kinda cool too. haha.:lol:

I've heard of Cop Rock. I do want to see it for myself. It does sound different :lol:

What's bad about Fish Police? It was a short-lived cartoon series, but keep in mind that it was based on a comic book to begin with. And in an era when the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were hugely popular, it probably wasn't that much of a stretch.
In any case, I do recall watching some of Cop Rock when it first aired- I just think it's funny.:) :cool:

I think they should come out with an instrumental musical where instead of characters breaking out in song in the middle of an act, they just stop dialogue and stand still as music plays. That would be a funny way to annoy people who love musicals. Get rid of the stupid lyrics to stupid songs annoying people love to sing.

I want to see Cop Rock.

I would so watch this show. I'm just saying.

I'd just like to see the network meeting that Bochco had when he was pitching this idea.
