"Boy Meets World" Star Danielle Fishel to Write Memoir
9/26/2013
by Philiana Ng

"Boy Meets World" star Danielle Fishel is writing a memoir.

The actress best known as Topanga will pen Normally, This Would Be Cause for Concern: Tales of Calamity and Unrelenting Awkwardness, which will be pushed through Simon & Schuster imprint Gallery Books.

It will hit stores in fall 2014.

The 32-year-old Fishel, who reprises her "Boy Meets World" role in Disney Channel's upcoming "Girl Meets World" update, will write about her experiences being an actress and life -- "from disastrous auditions to wedding planning mishaps and awkward red-carpet moments." (Fishel is engaged to Tim Belusko.)

The book "promises to be a fun romp through Fishel's own imperfections and wild neuroses."

"I'm thrilled to publish someone as charmingly funny as Danielle Fishel," said Jennifer Bergstrom, VP and Publisher of Gallery Books in the announcement. "She has already achieved a cult following and I'm sure her book will bring her even more fans."

Added Fishel: "Life is an incredible, and often embarrassing, journey, and I can't wait to share my experiences in Normally, This Would Be Cause for Concern. Get ready to laugh with me (or at me -- that's okay, too!)."

Emilia Pisani, Gallery Books' assistant editor, negotiated the deal with Brandi Bowles at Foundry Literary and Levity Entertainment Group, which includes North American rights.

Gallery Books' top-selling titles include books by Tim Gunn, Chelsea Handler, Stephen Chbosky, Stanley Tucci and Oliver Stone.

I don't usually read memoirs but I may check this one out because Danielle was my biggest girl crush in the 90s and she still hold a special place in my heart.

Is it just me or does 32 seem awfully young to be publishing your memoir?!?

I always wonder how things were when the cameras were off. The Brady Bunch was nuts for that kinda stuff. Can you imagine Topanga getting hot and heavy with Minkus?

I couldn't attend her NYC signing last night, but my sister did and said that Danny McNulty (Harley) showed up and bought the book.

He wasn't there as a guest and sat in the row of chairs w/ other people until he was recognized and then asked for photos.
