View Full Version : The Ten Best "Family" Sketches upperco 09-24-2013, 10:53 PM http://jacksonupperco.com/2013/09/25/the-ten-best-family-sketches-from-the-carol-burnett-show-plus-a-merman-surprise/ comedyfreak 09-30-2013, 06:02 AM I wish these would be put onto dvd. Frump 10-17-2013, 03:54 PM Why they don't release the episode where Tim is telling the elephant story is BEYOND me! BestTVever 03-23-2021, 06:41 AM I agree that "Sorry" should be near the top but my all time favorite is not on the list. "Taking Care of Mama" is my all time favorite. Mama fell down the steps after cleaning Eunice's bathtub and has a broken leg. She's in a wheel chair and makes life miserable for Ed and Eunice. The Christmas episode with Alan Alda and the coloring book is also near the top. How the author of this article left these 2 off the list is beyond me. Also the episode where Eunice and Mama visit Ed in the hardware store is another favorite of mine. TheLittleFaerie 03-23-2021, 03:25 PM The 4 I remember from childhood are: Mama's Accident Mama's Birthday The Retirement Home Ellen's Anniversary Those will always be special to me TVLegend 06-25-2021, 11:44 PM For some reason, I just can’t get enough of the skit where Mama’s sister, Aunt Mae dies, the one where Eunice’s old childhood friend, Midge Gibson returns, and the one where Eunice, Ed, and Mama meet the teacher about Bubba’s behavior. TVLegend 06-25-2021, 11:49 PM Mama's Birthday The parts from the skit that always get me is when Eunice hands Mama the fly swatter as a birthday gift and she goes on and makes a reference to a fly at Aunt Mae and Uncle Ed’s house and Mama responds with, “well, Eunice, that was 16 years ago. I’m sure that fly’s dead by now!”, and when Eunice and Ellen get into a spat at the end and Duke Reeves comes up. I LMAO at Ed’s reaction when he chokes on the dip. I think I have the entire collection, all that can be attained, but sadly I don't think I have Mama's Accident... I thought that was on one of them, but can't find it TVLegend 06-28-2021, 12:11 AM yes lol!!! I thought that was on one of them, but can't find it Watched that skit on YouTube, this may be one of my favorite lines: Mama: The air in that room was all funny. Ed: How in the hell can air…BE FUNNY?! I also like the part where Mama and Ed get into an argument over “Henrietta’s Hand Cream”. I have yet to watch the skit where Mama walks in on Eunice and Dan or the divorce one. Maybe a few others as well. Maybe a few others as well. The Divorce Sketch is the only one I have not seen, unless I saw it when I was little, I'm wondering if the line I remember is in that one... I wish someone would upload it already!!!! I think I just saw a clip of it on a CB special once.... I didn't recognize it from any other sketch, and I've seen all the others, so it had to be from that one. warp9p65 09-09-2021, 09:11 PM I really like the sketch where Eunice is rehearsing for a part in the play "Mary, Queen of Scotland". The director, Mavis Danton, comes over to Eunice's house to rehearse with Eunice, and it turns into a complete disaster! |
