DJM77 02-23-2002, 11:35 PM Originally posted by chris jacob why did Laveerne&shirley only stay on primetime telvison for 8seasons? Well, 8 seasons is a long time. Laverne & Shirley ended up getting cancelled because of declining ratings. The show couldn't survive after Cindy Williams left. chris jacob 02-27-2002, 06:02 PM I thought that episode were carmine moved away was the final episode Rockapella722 03-02-2002, 12:11 AM The episode in which Carmine goes to New York to perform in a Broadway musical, 'Hair,' is the final episode. 17Mar59 03-12-2002, 10:17 PM I think the reason why Laverne & Shirley was finally canceled could be put the following ways: 1)Cindy Williams left to raise her family and they didn't want to replace Shirley and tried to go on with just Laverne in the final season.A lot of the show was based on the chemistry between Cindy and Penny and when Cindy left an important part of the show went with her. 2)Toward the end of the show Penny wanted to direct more and more,so in the final episodes she was seen less and less which made the final episodes based more around the supporting characters. 3)Finally probably the biggest reason for the cancellation of Laverne & Shirley was that in the final season(s)it was up against the juggernaut known as The A-Team. chris jacob 03-13-2002, 06:23 PM But what im trying to say is that Laverne&shirley did not really get canceld because it had a final episode that is my point Sean Snow 03-13-2002, 06:40 PM Originally posted by chris jacob But what im trying to say is that Laverne&shirley did not really get canceld because it had a final episode that is my point The show WAS cancelled by ABC. Just because it had a final episode don't mean a thing. All shows have final episodes when they go off the air, even shows with only two or three episodes. "Laverne & Shirley" never had a series finale where things get rapped up, which most shows that leave on there own do, such as "M*A*S*H" and "Seinfeld" Notorious 03-17-2002, 09:38 AM don't forget about "Cheers", Sean haha:D |
