A horse is a horse, of course, unless it's Mr. Ed. Running from 1961 - 1966, Mr. Ed was a sitcom about a horse capable of speech, voiced by Allan Lane. His owner, Wilbur Post, was played by Alan Young.

To me it was when Larry Keating passed away. The show waqs never the same without the Addisons.

Never boned the fish!! Mr. Ed always was a good show! Actually it is one of my favorite old time shows. IDK why I don't post on the Mr. Ed forum more? Maybe if more people were on recently? Where are all the Mr. Ed fans???

I do agree I liked the Addisons better than the Kirkwoods!

The show was never the same after Larry Keating passed. After the Addisons left, the show started becoming more like a fantasy sitcom. Ed started doing ridiculous things like driving a car, flying a plane, becoming a spy, etc. I'm trying to make it through Season 5 on DVD right now and it's tough. I much prefer the more natural character-based humor of the first 3 seasons.
