The producers should have had an episode where we find out why JJ always wore the same hat every single day because nobody in the entire household wore hats, does anyone find it strange that James and Michael never had the urge to wear hats like JJ, i would have atleast thought since michael was suppose to look up to JJ since he was the older brother he would be influenced to wear the same purple hat as him, does anyone agree that james and michael should have worn hats like JJ ???

Well the reason JJ wore the same hat all the time is because it was Jimmy Walker's own hat that he wore to rehearsal. The producers saw it and thought it worked well for the character and told him to wear it for the show. That went well so they made it part of JJ regular costume. I suppose if John Amos or Michael Carter had a favorite hat they wore to rehearsal the same thing might have happened to them.
