I agree. Most are idiotic. A limit of one new thread per day per person would be an improvement.

I wish there were a way to eliminate any threads I don't want to see from my screen, while still allowing other people to continue to see them if they choose to do so.

I'm just saying that the policy here is quality over quantity...we all make that mistake, but we should be careful about it.

The best thing about S.O. is that we all have freedom to post what we want (within reason) and I think the worst thing we could do is put restrictions on that freedom whether it applies to just one memner or all of us.

Just today, this guy has now spammed up the Good Times boards. I wish there was a way to report people on this site. I am getting tired of having to scroll through all his irrelevant nonsensical posts that don't belong. He's only been on this site since February and he's close to 2,000 posts.

I'll admit I get frustrated because of all his post. He goes a little too far but...I started thinking...
we don't know this person or his circumstances. Maybe he doesn't have anything other than the internet in his life or has medical issues that keeps him inside on the internet a lot. I have stopped coming here to read as often because the board seems almost spammed up but maybe we should give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he needs our compassion. If that's not the case maybe he'll get bored and slow down a bit.

That's pretty much what should happen. Like Patty Duke said, we don't know what his life is like. He just needs to cut back and quit spamming the boards.

There's such a thing as being too tolerant.

How about none of his threads get deleted? How about we stop the bullying? He's not hurting anybody.

Here's a thought. If you don't like reading somebody's threads, add them to your ignore list. Problem solved.

If ignoring them doesn't work, then just skip over the threads. You aren't going to be interested in clicking on every thread here anyway. There's nothing that currently be done about removing a thread's persons from the search, even if you have them ignored.
